AC/DC Says Lars

It's them. Look a them, you've got some singing bloke who looks like a bad photocopy of Andy Capp, fuck knows what the deal is with the fella in the velvet looking school uniform, but I wouldn't let him in my house, I'll tell you that for nothing.

The other guitarist looks like a confused chartered accountant and there's a bloke playing bass who seems to have wandered in from a Spinal Tap outtake.

Overall they look like the blokes from a Watchdog special on cowboy plumbers or something, although instead of fleecing little old ladies out of their life-savings for shoddy work, you lot are buying concert tickets for them.

And that's before I start on the fucking music.

2014, and people are getting excited about that? Words fucking fail me.

I'm not going to defend AC/DC on here - they are what they are. If Bon Scott had lived longer he'd be as beloved as any tier one rock musician. Theyre preposterous - but thats kinda the point. Theyre the biggest and possibly best rock band of all time.

Any artist that has defined their own archetype to the extent that they're distinctive and individual enough to be successfully shorthanded into one or two motifs or stylistic traits can consider themselves ahead of the game. They've succeeded ahead of 99.99% of other bands who have nothing immediately recognisable or unique about them and are thus forced to wallow in a beige wilderness of anonymity and indifference.

In other words, one man's flatcap is another man's sacred and magical symbol.

Top rantage Mardy. Yes they've largely been releasing shit since 1980 but they're still capable of putting on a great live show. Almost any song off their first five albums is an absolute tune, guaranteed to have me dancing round my handbag like the middle aged dick that I am.

Give me that over some soulless electronic shite any day of the week.

This post, right there and Wooderson's balanced and reasonable contributions to this thread are exactly why we need to start talking again. Stand by for mail (this weekend)

Strong look, that. I'm more than fond, it's my Autumn/Winter 2014 look.

I'm basing my style on him these days. Just with an extra 20 years and 40kgs

Actually, it's just occured to me, if ACDC look like cowboy plumbers, he looks like the dopey 17 year old apprentice on the building site who they chuck tools at and tell him to get on and make the fucking tea.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
