Hitchin Hill. Love it up there. Great view, quiet, loads of space, not far from gate A. Unfortunately it's pretty far from most things. I find if you take everything with you in the morning though it's fine and on the walk back there's loads of distractions.

Camped there every time I've been (4)

Thought about park home this time to they moved Arcadia up there. So it was back to Hitchen

Pylon – 4th year on the trot in exactly the same spot!

Pros

Easy to get to from Gate A, only a couple of minutes walk down the hill

Very close to JP and Dance village, only 3 or 4 minutes walk down the hill

Quiet

Never gets full, we arrive Thursday afternoon and there’s still loads of space to the edges of the field

Quite good food

Overlooked by security

Never seen any trouble in the four years I have camped there, nor have I ever heard of any thefts from tents

Cons

Not many toilets

If you are up against the fence next to JP, then there can be quite a bit of noise from the access road first thing in the morning – might try the other side of the field next year

Long way from the SE corner/Williams Green/West Holts

Oxlyers 2nd year running

pros:

Close to other, pyramid, silver hayes and park.

Not too far from gate A

Close to sausage fest - very good mash!!

Not too noisy at night

Cons:

Fills up quick - we arrived at 12 on weds told it was full...somehow found a spot for 15?! But point still stands

Toilets on one side shared with silver hayes so very busy and dirty

Bit far from SE corner

Will aim to camp there again next year !

Bushy Ground for us

Pros

Not too busy

Pretty quiet at night

Closeness to gate Do

Ease of access to Silver Hayes,.John Peel and Other Stages

Cons

Long way from Park and Se corner

Queues to toilets were pretty long at peak time, don't understand why more didn't take a few minutes walk to John Peel toilets and NO queues. All stood like sheep in the queues.

Will definitely head back to Bushy next year

Hitchin Hill pretty much (Behind Spring Ground)

Pros:

Its a nice secluded spot,

Fairly close to the Pyramid in that you can hear it (also wierdly The Gully :P).

Quiet/Nice enough Neighbours all round :P

Cons:

Up hill, on a slight slope. So was far to much effort to climb up everytime I wanted to return to the tent and plus kept slipping downwards in my tent at night :P.

Lack of direct routes for anywhere but the Pyramid.

Wrong side of the festival from all the "good" stuff and not just the main stages.

Why is disabled camping on what I've deemed to be the real hill of death? Up a stony path...it makes no sense!

For all the years that I have attended I have always camped in the same place. Until very recently I thought it was known as Top Webbs Ash. I now think it might be Michaels Mead. I'm really not sure. I just head straight for the same set of trees each year I go there. I was a bit naughty this year as I knew someone who got on site the Saturday before the festival. He put two of our tents up on the morning before the gates opened.

Pros - I know how to get back to camp even in the most demented of states.

Cons - it's a trek to get to get to many of the places I like to go to.

Pylon:

Pros:

- Easy access from Gate A.

- Quiet, friendly enough and plenty of space between tents.

- Close to John Peel/Silver Hayes/Other although didn't spend much time at any of these areas this year.

- Easy access to back of Pyramid field if you go along the 'top paths'.

- Near to Gate A property lock up

Cons:

- Not a great deal of toilets to cope with demand during busier periods.

- Distance from Park, SE Corner etc

- The path through from Silver Hayes is the most slippery on the whole site!

Lime Kiln:

Pros: close to Gate A, quiet, plenty of space, friendly neighbours, solid tracks all the way back so no slippy/sticky mud or metal tracks.

Cons, big hill to get back, hilly field so kept sliding down in the sleeping bag, long way to nearest toilets.

Lower Mead.

Good points - relatively quiet, close proximity to John Peel and not too much of a fuss to get to the Pyramid or straight through the woods up to William's Green and beyond. Not too far from some decent food places either.

Bad points - absolutely shite toilet maintenance.

Dairy Ground. I think the second field back.

Pros.

It wasn't rammed, we had enough space outside our tents where we could communally hang, and when it was sunny all stretch out in it.

Close to The Park, which is one of my favourite spots, so much nice food there and some of the best chill out spots of the festival.

The walk back from the SE corner isn't too horrific, though still felt long. As I ended most nights there I just can't imagine camping in the spots that are double the distance away.

Pretty quiet, though I got back late every night.

I loved hearing Arcadia while I was getting ready for the evening/night.

Cons.

Definitely our nearest toilets, the queue was always stupidly long, I think I walked the extra field to the park ones 95% of the time, which is grim when you feel trashed and just want a quick wee before going back to sleep.

That's all I can think of!

Bushy Ground

Pros - Quiet, not too far a walk from everything (except the naughty corner and the park), compost toilets instead of long drops, plenty of space

cons - quite a long walk back after a night out, stunk of cow shit

There was 11 of us going 8 of them got there at 11am and we told them to go for oxlyers/dairy ground/park home and we were going to jump in there tents when we got there at like 5pm so they weren't saving space don't worry :P. However when they arrived they claimed that pennards and oxlyers and dairy ground and park home were all full and Bushy Ground was the next closest camp they could get. Is this true?

I had a feeling they'd be lazy c**ts and camp in one of the first fields they seen because they couldn't be arsed walking with the bags so I think they just came up with an excuse that they know I couldn't disprove there and then to stop me from kicking off at them for being lazy twats. We had a 10 man tent and 3 4 mans to set up bear in mind so it may of actually been difficult to find that kind of room or have i just been lied to completely?

As you walk down from Gate A into Pylon Ground, we turned left down the track behind the burger van, then all the way to the end up against the fence. So basically the far top right corner as you look at it on the map!

Oxylers.

This is my 5th year now. I do intend to come back here again. Though I would like to try somewhere a lot more quiet one year.

Pros:

It's not too far from gate A (I t might seem horrific when you arrive but you get over it once your tent is up)

It's accessible to get to any area rather quickly. (Not too far from Rail Track.

Never really had a problem with anybody who has camped near us.

Cons:

We camped right near to Silver Hayes. Lots of helmets about when you go to the toilet and it gets VERY busy.

You can hear a lot of trash electronic music being pumped towards the tent.

The food isn't too great.

I've noticed in the past 2 years that it fills up rather quickly. So if there's a big group of you, you's are best all arriving well before 10.00am.

Camped in our usual spot on the Railway Track side of Oxlyers.

Pros:

Nice and central.

Can watch / listen to Other Stage while round the tent.

Cons:

Loos are busy while the music's on due to being the main Other Stage block

Noisy - although I'll qualify this by saying I knew it would be and Arcadia wasn't as bad as I expected.

Not the friendliest place to camp - everyone seems quite insular (mind you, it might be me that's the problem there!)

The walk in is damn hard work (but worth it!)

Gotta say, as I trekked back from Bella's Field on Friday night it was quite enough to get to Oxlyers. The thought of having to go any further fills me with dread!

Dairy Ground

Pro's:

- Close to the Park and Arcadia, not far from the other stage either

- Near gate D where we usually arrive

- Lack of dickheads

Cons:

- The milkman that woke me up in the morning

- Being woken up by I predict a riot on Friday morning

Top corner of pennards next to the greenfields. For the first time ever I got on-site tuesday evening so had my pick of spots and the novel experience of going to sleep in an empty field (but not without my ear-plugs in!) and awaking to a nearly full one. Best arrival for many a year!

Pros:

Location, nice view, and location.

Cons:

I was in the same spot last year and it seemed to fill even earlier this year.

Quite cramped but that doesn't bother me too much.

I think we were in Webbs Ash

Pros: Near the Mandala bar for drinks and the Pyramid / markets for food. Quiet at night

Cons: A big trek to the Park/Greenfields and our campsite was overrun during Dolly!

Overall a great spot, much preferring the farm side of the site for camping

Pennards

pros: close to lots of stages

cons: packed and neighbours had a distinct parklife uni-lad flavour. much preferred row mead last year. proximity to stages not all that important for me at glastonbury as once i'm out, i'm out for the day with booze n gear in tow so would prefer slightly quieter spot to return to with more discerning neighbours with whom to converse.

Dairy

Pro's

I always camp here! :-) ha

Close proximity to park, greenfields etc, not too far a stumble home from SE

Not too far a walk to gate d

2 sets of toilets close by, only noticed queues early in the morning really

Direct Neighbours we had were ace

Con's

Theft! I know it happens all over, but felt quite shitty when it happened a few times

Our neighbours were friendly and we had a laugh, but had a few mardy's about

Was messy!

Defo camp here if I go next year, just seems easy and we all like it, so just always find ourselves heading there
