It's quite obviously a joke tho aswell!

Right when you joined there was a couple of Manchester themed trolls, a lot of people still appear to believe you're an alt of that, even though it's been established multiple times that you aren't. Big respect to you for ignoring them and carrying on, though, I'd have fucked off long ago if all of my posts were getting downvoted for no reason.

the article also says he didn't access a child porn site, it was just a 'regular' porn site. So this whole discussion is redundant (if that article is what we're going on)

A regular porn site with a link to a child porn site which he then attempted to access.

Was all about the intent.

What is all the fuss and argument about?

He has already played Glasto since his arrest, there were no protests, no petitions, can't figure out why its such a big deal 8 years later

If don't like him, simple, don't go see him, i will be all that much nearer the front of the pyramid if people on here get all moral and don't see him

Pretty much yeah, unless he dumped his old computers in the 3 years between the act andd the arrest. But even then they there are ways.

Having studied the Who a lot over the years Im inclined to believe him.

This story was over years ago.

They wouldn't even need his computers, all would need is his IP address from his service provider and every website he had visited, every page he had visited, every form he had filled in, would be readily available, he could format every hard drive he has ever had, or throw away every pc, police would not need them

Haha, that was the time of the last announcement.

I remember I refreshed the website bang on at 7 and nothing... I was dissapointed so I went and got myself a biscuit.. And whilst walking away my phone beeped and I had a notification from glasto's Twitter! I never grabbed my phone so quickly!

Lesson learnt - keep biscuits within reach at all times.

not true.

It might be true today with the monitoring that GCHQ is doing, but there was no log-and-keep of anything going on back in 1998.

Right, so now the writings on the wall, who first predicted The Who, and on what page?

I called it in a Tweet on 17/11/04 - granted, I predicted Saturday night after the Friday at Hyde Park has been announced.....

    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
