Oh excuse me, beacuse youve been a member on here longer and only you are allowed to talk about bands you like and want to play! Snobby judgmental people like you, that put alot of people off joining this forum and that shouldnt be.

You are the complete opposite of what glastonbury is about.

err, calm down dear. I didn't say you couldn't talk about it, I just said I wish I could filter the content out. The trolls and Mancunian based band obsessives (I suspect the two are linked) are making this thread quite tiresome to read, not really adding anything constructive and obscuring some interesting and funny discussions about the headliners and line-up.

As for the phrase "Snobby judgmental people like you".... do you see what you've just done there?

Isn't it strange that all the 'could be the same person' posters have disappeared from the forum at the same time?

Maybe he's got a project due in at the start of term. :)

Or maybe it's because they aren't ALL the same person, and have just decided that giving people some information isn't worth it for the abuse that they go on to receive, and are keeping quiet.

Or his mum has shouted upstairs to him that his tea is ready.

For me, it has to be Prince if they're delaying it until June. If it was a problem with one of these acts being announced at another festival as an exclusive, like Macca perhaps, they'd surely just announce it as a TBC like last year. Where Prince is concerned, didn't he pull out last year due to some bullshit about his name being thrown around? If the third headliner is TBC on the initial poster again, everyone is going to be talking about Prince. He knows this, and Glastonbury know this, so it sounds as though he has Glastonbury by the balls, making sure they know that he will pull out if there's any more speculation towards him headlining. It would also explain why everyone around the festival and the artist has been so hush on the matter, not allowing it to leak.

If the word gets out and he does pull out, Florence will step in.

That's my take on it anyway. I'm off to grab some beers.

Perhaps that would tie in with the rumour that Prince is back in London in June?

With the best will in the world to them, because they do a magnificent job, I don't think the office staff who answer emails from the public are privy to when announcements are made. Their emails strike me as guesswork. I expect they'll know a few hours before but not more than that.

I wasn't actually including you in that comment, sorry if you thought I was.

Gonna have to go and put Labyrinth on now man!!

I'd go and see Bowie but only if he played Magic Dance

'What kind of magic spell to use...'

And tossing goblins around the Pyramid!!

I've seen Prince announcing shows in USA a few days before the gigs, still on his Hit and Run tour. Wouldn't surprise me if he will do the same again, as he did last year, around the time of Glasto, so makes sense he is holding back until he announces these gigs as well!

Apologies, I'm probably being sensitive. As much as I understand being cautious of new posters, it is quite irritating when you post some potentially useful information only to get lumped in with a troll(s), like I was earlier. Anyway, the only details I have right now have already been posted, so it's up to others if they think they are useful.

I totally agree but at the same time surely they wouldn't be able to say likely later this month or may without being guided to that point, I'd be happy if they allowed the self confirms to go ahead at least then we'd be closer to piecing the line up together

Also quick note on prince, went and watched him in birmingham last year and he was incredible, best live act ive seen (which is an ever growing list including fleetwood Mac), would absolutely kill it on the pyramid (in a good way)

I went to the 2nd night in Birmingham - absolutely amazing!! I wasn't the biggest Prince fan in the world, but having seen him, he is easily one of the best people I've ever seen!! So much fun as well!! And to add to that, his drummer, Hannah Ford, is quite easily the fittest drummer ever!! :D

I don't think the majority of posters on efests are usually cautious of new posters, but there has been a spate of 'parody' accounts recently, which has increased the level of scepticism. Hopefully it will calm down soon and we can get on with discussing the festival rather than IP addresses!

"I find shoes difficult to be ethical about - one just can't seem to avoid leather. One is trapped, ultimately"

Well I can and am doing, with a fraction of his resources. What a load of shit.

EDIT:

The only area where it might be remotely difficult is smart work shoes, these are mine, which I found in 2 seconds on Google

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
