can i have a summary of anything important today please? was seriously hoping today would be the day while i'm not here

Neil said he has good information that the 3rd headliner is someone they have been trying to get for ages who is male and has a band. Think that was about it for today.

So, anyone else going to be checking back at 23.59?

The idea that they'd announce it before the end of the balance window is because it's unfair to expect people to pay without knowing the lineup, isn't it? Doing it at 23:59 doesn't really satisfy that.

I was thinking they might announce it as soon as the window ends, which is at 23.59. It was also a bit of a joke, really, but not a very good one :(

Ahh fair enough, that makes more sense than the way I was looking at it.

Yeah I was gonna add that I thought it was probably a joke but couldn't be bothered :P

After resale should in theory mean less demand (I hope!) and it is quite unfair on those who paid deposits to drop a lineup before the resale. Maybe this is all wishful thinking and something massive will be announced to make the resale a slim chance

dunno maybe reverse psychology.. because the lineup ISN'T out people will think that they have someone HUGE and go for tickets.

If it IS Prince, I expect that Glastonbury would want to announce him fairly quickly after he signs the contract, to reduce the risk of him changing his mind.

Either way, as we haven't had an announcement today, it could realistically be at any point between now and the refund deadline on May 8th. If they've had a lot of balances not paid then that may prompt them to do it before the resale, but there's no way of us knowing whether that is the case.

So basically, I'm not going to get any work done for the forseeable future!

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
