My son suggested that they might bring out the poster next, with the 3rd headliner tba. That's a scary prospect.

I'd rather wait an extra week than they do that.

Oh and a geezer on Twitter is saying it's out next Thursday. Not sure how credible but it's something to go on!

Yes. As a band that's had 8 studio albums, countless top charting rock singles, a major TV show (just about to get a second series), played back to back dates at Milton Keynes bowl, had guest stars including Alice Cooper and Roger Taylor, and been a driving force in rock music for the last two decades.

They put on an awesome show when I saw them in MK, and they can easily get a field of 100,000 odd people jumping up and down like crazy! :) You'd have to be crazy to not accept that they are top drawer headliners.

Then I'm crazy.

They are a safe, boring, formulaic rock band.

Pearl Jam would've been a far better rock headliner

Oh dear, Radiohead mentioned :), missed that, now you really are plucking at my strings Neil! This has to happen before the fallow year so why not now! Please make this happen

Though I will probably be let down again :(

at least with a TBA you could more or less rule out Flo - what reason would they have to hold her back? it'd have to be somebody like Prince or Roses who want to be announced in their own time

The final headliner will become clear before the announcment I'm sure of it... I highly doubt that we will be guessing until the end. Just like mumford in 2013 it's probably who we don't want it to be :P but there's plenty of info to suggest it could be that act...

That's not a cryptic post by the way, it's just a statement, I highly doubt it's now going to be someone we would not have suggested or heavily discussed...

Yesterday you said the final headliner would be a 'Special Guest' on the announcement poster!

Stop talking bullshit

expect that barely anybody would give a shit about Pearl Jam being announced

"woo can't wait to hear Jeremy and Alive and Even Flow and... well that's it"

I've had it in my head for months that it would be April 2nd, again next Thursday. Remember reading it somewhere a while back. Ties up with what this chap is saying.

I can't disagree with you on the Pearl Jam thing! I'm still gutted I missed them playing Reading in 2006.

I've yet to meet one person in the fairly decent sized group I know going to Glasto who gives a shit about the Foos

Wasnt neil the one who had even mainstream publications convinced coldplay were the saturday headliner?

at this point im not going to read into anything anybody says.....just put it this way, glasto have done a top job of secrecy this year, theres no way theyd now let it leak out via any source at the last minute, we`ll just have to wait to see.

I agree. I know someone (not particularly well, but still) who is quite high up in event security and he says he's never known secrecy like it this year. Apparently he usually knows who the headliners are ahead of release but this year, nada.

He is absolutely adamant that Robbie Williams will be there in some way, though. Won't say why he's so sure but I trust him. Doesn't seem like a bullshitter.

Yeah, I'm firmly of the feeling that flo has been on the subs bench as far as headliner status goes and will end up under the foos. I base this opinion on nothing more than gut instinct and 986 pages of rampant speculation.

Pearl Jam would make a great headliner, I really hope that happens one day (*cough* 2016 please and thank you). They have 2 decades worth of great tunes for the fans and 3 for everyone else but so what, you could say the same about Neil Young.

I dont see how it could be....emily said in that interview that florance would not be headlining.......I know the glasto organizers can be pretty cryptic sometimes when interviewed....but ive yet know them to flat out lie...esp when ticket sales could still be affected.

as i said on the last page, Emily said she didn't know what Florence was up to, so if she is playing Glastonbury (as there's almost no UK festivals left for her to play), then Emily wasn't telling the truth.

based on what Emily said, FATM aren't at Glastonbury.

Have Pearl Jam ever been massive in the UK? Seem to recall they struggled a bit to sell out MK Bowl? Don't get me wrong I enjoy Ten as much as the next casual grunge fan but just not sure of their popularity? Although, if Metallica can headline I guess Pearl Jam could too.

i think they have a fairly big cult fanbase, in that their fans are MEGA fans, but outside of that nah, i don't think there's much room for casual listening, which is why i can't see them ever being booked for another UK fest apart from Download or Sonisphere one year (as well as IOW which they did a couple of years back).

She's playing a UK fest though

I honestly think we've tried to treat Emily like she has patterns and it would be completely beyond her to lie about an act being there - it's not even that bad of a thing to do, if you think that one of your headliners you wanna keep relatively secret is becoming common knowledge you would tell a porkie? Right?

I'm a big Radiohead fan but i kind of hope it isn't them otherwise it's going to throw me into a world of turmoil, I've seen them twice and they were brilliant both times but i'm all ready seeing Kanye at the pyramid so i don't know if i'd want another night at the Pyramid for a band I've all ready seen

on the other hand, seeing Radiohead at Glastonbury would be flucking brilliant

    • yet in Brazil they spent the money to give her the staging so her show could be done just like in the arena. And Madonna does not compromise on that sort of thing. So money was def secondary if they got into the last phase of finalizing the booking and it fell apart when it came to production. Which is t that far fetched with her anyway.   When she did the Super Bowl, just a couple days beforehand she had the idea of wanting to rappel down from the top of the stadium to start the performance and they had to tell her there was no way it could be pulled off cause nobody makes a change like that so last minute.
