I've listen the The Roses albums a lot over the last two days as I've never really got into them and I'm not sure if there's enough there for them ti headline? Maybe at their peak but I'm not sure about now. I could see them being great live with a partisan crowd but at Glastonbury, I'm not sure if you'd get that. Certainly not in great numbers anyway.

Don't stoke up the Roses' fans. They won't take kindly to that!

Had a look at their website and they seem to be a press organised thing - could they have got something and broken an embargo?

Glasto don't do press like other festivals. Most of the time there is only a select few that get the info prior to the announcement - mainly bbc and guardian.

Even some of the big boys in the media have to get Glastonbury information from the festivals official website. That includes line up announcements.

I want to believe that an announcement is imminent, but I don't want that announcement to be Florence + The Machine headlining

i'd rather that than prince in my ever so humble opinion... and thats not even saying i particularly like FATM

I am contributing as part of my "Newbie drive to Efests 1000 page Glasto headliners thread guessathon 2015" TM.

Can't believe the first year I get tickets and join here, no one really seems to be able to guess who it's gonna be

I have given it some thought though and this is my final headliner prediction.

I'm bearing in mind the Eavii's infamous back stage comment and also the flurry of anniversaries for various bands this year (spike island etc), and I'm also going with an antipodean theme...

So I'm going for a "cast of neighbours 1985-2015 medley".

Led by Nicola Charles (fit and British):vocals.

Mrs Mangle on Flying V/Gibson.

Lou Carpenter on Drums (looks like he smashed it in the 70's)

Craig Maclachlan/Donovan/Minogue/token Rowetta:Backing vocals

Alessi sisters : go go dancers/strippers.

Bouncer (dog) : maracas/theremin.

Toadfish Rebecchi : Electric triangle/washboard/spoons.

Ay thang yew

At least when it isn't Flo it'll now be a pleasant surprise, whoever it is. Even the Roses.

Mumford and Sons again would be a more pleasant surprise than "Flo". Doesn't matter how much she gets her kit off in latest videos - the songs are weak.

I thinl if it's Flo it may not come this week, if it's Prince or someone huge like that it'll be either tomorrow or Thursday to get in before IOW. Blur at IOW isn't actually that huge, it's not like they are doing a sold out quick show where IOW ia you're only hope.

Woah, Wooderson, that's too far. This lack of info is getting to all of us, but try to hold it together.

I'm just not a fan Robin. Songs are pants and vocals are worse.

The cynical ploy to turn her into a "sex symbol" makes it worse still.

:)

I've just had three downvotes, I assume on the strength of my headliner predictions.

Crikey! Are you lot always that touchy? Let's be fair, people are pissing in the wind guessing who the headliner may or not be (myself included) :)

You grumpy buggers, I even included a theremin playing golden lab. :)

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
