I wouldn't put too much faith in the Taylor Swift one. I'm not.

Foos I'm nearly certain about, tho I'm lacking that golden nugget of info that would give me certainty.

The rest, it'll come. I'm not panicing ... too much. :P

Didn't start coming together while mid feb last year anyway did it?

I can't stand Mumfords, and there was no way I was going to watch them, but in a way I was happy they were booked that night, as I got to see the horrified confused looks on faces during Nick Cave. Then I got to see the wonderful Bobby Womack on West Holts.

Glorious evening. I watched Nick Cave, saw most of The Smashing Pumpkins then went to Bobby Womack.

Glastonbury 2013 was a mighty fine vintage. Possibly the best festival I've done.

Well if you look on the Rumours page there are 2 Strong Rumours for headliners ;)

But there's also a lot of "rumour" rumours whereas past years have just had three or four big acts as SR or rumour. Are we saying it's Swift, Foos and then one of Noel, Libs, Adele, ACDC, Florence or Kylie? Last year the early bets of AF, Metallica and Kasabian were almost concrete before the new year (even though people were hoping for Prince), likewise Arctics, Stones and Mumfords were on everyone's lips well before now. We're only two months away from the full lineup and basically no one's got a clue this year!

Obligatory Adele quote:

Speaking to Q magazine, the Rolling in the Deep singer said, "I'm mortified to have to pay 50% tax! I use the NHS, I can't use public transport any more. Trains are always late, most state schools are shit, and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh? When I got my tax bill in from [the album] 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire."

that's just not true.

Maybe not as far as you or the bookies were concerned but Metallica started around November when Lars said what he said, AF were confirmed before Christmas and loads of people guessed Kasabian because they were doing that Leicester gig and were more or less the only band that hadn't headlined before but who were likely to step up. There's much more to headliner rumours than what's on here or what the bookies say.

I seem to remember all 3 were only rumoured. Along with the eagles and prince

yep, and only weakly rumoured until weeks after the new year.

I am struggling a bit more or Glasto this year tho. I tend to get around the same amount of info each year, but not necessarily for the same fests or at the same points of the year. It comes and goes and moves around, and some years I do better than others at any individual fest.

I've had a few more bits and pieces in the last few days than i'd been having before, so it's picking up. :)

Just been reading the last few pages, one of the first things that comes to my mind if I read too much into the comments about a lot of people might not be happy is One Direction.

There might have been a some people convinced with those but it wasn't hordes.

And if it's all so easy, you'll be able to tell us who's on this year right now...? :P

I don't claim any exclusive powers or anything, but there was no common belief in those two as the other headliners as far back as the new year.

Nah the first mention of Metallica was in December when Q said they were rumoured for the Other stage. Don't think they were even seriously talked about as headliners until February/March.

actually, there's something before that.

Someone posted on here in Nov or early december that his daughter(?) had bumped into Michael in Tesco's or somewhere and Michael had told her that Metallica were headlining. It would be fair to say that few took it seriously at the time - plenty couldn't be convinced they were playing until it was officially announced.

It wasn't until after the rise and fall of the rumours for he who shall not be named wasn't it? Even at that I don't think it was taken massively seriously until a lot nearer the announcement day

That's kind of my point - I'm not saying it's easy but for at least the last five festivals someone somewhere, whether it's here, in the Daily Star, down the pub or on Facebook has correctly guessed the three main headliners well before now. This year all i can see is that no one really has a clue, which is fine because it makes the build up to line-up day even more exciting!

Oh I forgot about that, fair play to whoever it was that posted it.

    • I keep seeing the Yungblud media push again: the interviews, the radio presenting tours, the reels after reels on IG and FB. His labels marketing team are on another push which can only mean new stuff coming out soon.
