I think she's been an outside bet for a while now. Given the - ahem - muted reception to her recent work and the last tour she did, I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't pretty keen to do it.

A Madonna greatest hits set wouldn't be the worst prospect in the world.

However, we got free tickets to her gig at Murrayfield a couple of years ago and the setlist was awful.

Can't think of any stadium acts with 3 decades in the game who do mostly new material and skip the hits.

Madonna did that last time out and it backfired on her.

I've said it countless times on here but if Madonna got the setlist right she could absolutely nail a headline slot at Glastonbury. If she got the setlist wrong, as she did on her last tour when I saw her at Hyde Park it could be a bit of a disaster.

I don't think people realise that she's in the top teir bracket in terms of sales along with MJ, Elvis & the Beatles. Personal preferences aside, there's no doubting she would be a huge booking.

I can't see her ever being glasto's first choice, but i'd imagine it would be modelled pretty similar to the metallica booking. An act that would be a bit weird headlining glastonbury, but would probably pull it off very well... And she has that legendary aspect to it.

Don't think i'd see her though...

Foo fighters, madonna, florence + the machine would be a strong ish trio.
