Lock ups

They are fantastic for convenience . We use more than one all festival. Store food drinks clothes Tec in the few we will be close to and normally store some chaos so we can chill during day an then put the chairs back in for the evening. We then collect what we want the last day. We are in the caravan field so saves walking back

Don't forget to bung 'em a donation!

They're staffed by volunteers doing an amazing job, providing a great service, to support a worthy cause - think they used to be staffed by Friends of The Earth groups but not sure now.

Always use these. We normally camp in Kidney mead and near to the lock up as possible. It's great to be completey at ease that your stuff is safe, added to the fact that with them being manned 24 hrs it would be silly of any tent theives to be about near the lock ups for thought of being noticed, but more so that we can go there first thing and withdraw money for the day. It's easy and quick, just don't loose the number your given on the ticket or you'll likely to be there for a while whilst they sort it out. The staff though have always been extremely lovely and very helpful.

For me I generally put in whatever coins smaller than 50p that I have at the time. I use the lock ups loads so sometimes it will be a few pence sometimes a few quid but I'm sure with the amount I use them it works out to be a fair amount over the week. Last year I even donated some of my excess booze to the staff on the Sunday night.

When you get your bag out just to get a jumper say,do you have to join the queue again or can you hand the bag straight back and how long are the queues at peak times, never used them you see but will do this year?

Do they expect you to make a donation every time you use them?

I 100% intend on making donations, but I'd probably be better off donating one lump sum instead of giving money each time purely because I want to take my DSLR this year and I plan to get it in and out quite a lot. I don't want to worry about having coins every time I use them.

Just to emphasise, I will be donating, I'm not trying to get out of that because I appreciate it's an invaluable service provided by charity, I just want to know if you're expected to donate every time you use the service or not.

The lock ups are great. I know what you mean with the donating part though. I stayed in TF last year so only used the lock up in the kidz field as went past it every day to top up money etc. Got to know one of the chaps there who saw me donate every other time and they're happy with that.
