Really good booking to put them on Holts. Saw them on Pyramid last time around think it was 2007.

Nope, that was three of Bob's kids - Stephen, Julian, and Damian.

The only Marley connection to The Wailers is the historical one (Bob).

Really excited about this one :)

Didn't PSB release a set time on their website a while back? That had everyone sure they clashed with Dolly. There's another thread somewhere...

Really hope they don't clash with Dolly as I've not seen either and both look like potential highlights.

Somehow I'm hoping to squeeze in Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Wailers around my missus not wanting to miss a second of Dolly. If I remember right I saw the wailers on pyramid stage in 2000 and it was fantastico so definitely hoping the set times are kind to me.

Agreed they were superb not to be missed. They were defo billed as the wailers on the pyramid but maybe it was a different year when I saw them?

2007 on the Pyramid was "The Marley Brothers performing Exodus", which was Sunday afternoon. Also that year was Damian Marley headlining Jazzworld on the Friday, and Stephen Marley headlining The Roots Tent on the Saturday.

Having just checked the bands page on here, since 2001 The Wailers have only played Glasto once, in 2005. According to the efests data they only played on Jazzworld (I can't guarantee it's accurate, but I'd be surprised if it's not).

Must have been 2005 but I was pretty sure it was on the Pyramid buy maybe the old mind is playing tricks!

I don’t listen to either loads to BJM/The Wailers is probably the worst clash for me. There’s St Vicent too, who I love, but I’m seeing her later in the year anyway.

Think I’ll go for The Wailers because I’d probably never think to see them away from a festival environment.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
