NFR NFC aside, I think we still need the annual meteorological nerdfest thread that is the focus of the traditional weather discussion, preferably with Jackone GFS 'chart of the week', and William of Walworth (does he still post these days)?

Yep. Going to be disaster this year. Rain most days, really heavy for the weeks leading up to the festival too. Tractors and trucks are going to make it a mudbath before we even get there. Its going to be shit.

How many tickets do you need?

Think I've asked this before lol.

Weather reports are only worth anything from about 2 weeks prior to any event.

Apart from me! I have a secret ability to tell what the weather will be on any day ever. And I can inform everybody that there will be NO RAIN this year at Glastonbury! Hooray!!

No F**king Rain, No F***king Compromise!!

None of this "a little shower will be nice" or anything like that, we want wall to wall sunshine and nothing less!!

Sacrifices throughout the year all add up to pleasing the Weather Gods and they give us glorious sunshine. Now I'm off to look at waterproofs again. It keeps them happy!

Well said. Yes, we all make sacrifices to the weather Gods such as getting caught out in a rain storm with no protection from a coat etc. I may take my homage that little further now, and make sacrificial offerings to them - all Gods love a bit of this.

OK OK STOP.

There is already a NFR.. thread here. Keep your weather god nonsense there please.

Never! Science has consistently failed us every year. In 2010 we got wall to wall sunshine when everyone believed in the message of sacrfice to the Weather Gods in support of former poster Langdale Wolf's last Glastonbury. Since then we have had science make predictions, we have had people ask for a little cloud cover and you know what happened? We had a crap thursday last year and mud for most of 2011. It needs to improve! The whole board needs to believe!

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
