Can't speak for last year, but the spider's certainly had stuff on during the day in previous years.

As for sound bleed, I'd guess they'll still have the speakers facing in the way, so that combined with the Park Stage pointing uphill away from it will probably still work.

how is that going to work? it's next to the Park, right, will there not be sound bleed issues? Park has strummy strummy bedwetter acoustic feyness wafting about (actually my preferred genre as it goes), and right next to it will be the whump whump whump of Arcadia?

Hmmmm, I think those two areas could be a bit of a clash, particularly when the Park gets really busy, as it has in previous years. Not sure if they still have the 'special guest' thing going on, but it got really, really rammed up there at times and I can't imagine Arcadia nearby will help?

last year it was near the other stage so it didn't start till after that had finished. i presume it will be starting earlier again, as in previous years, as there will be no sound clash due to it;s NEW positioning. i do hope this is the case.

Arcadia is quite a distance from the Park stage isnt it. Its right down the hill to the right of the walkway you walk up to get to the Park Stage entrance. I thought that would be far enough away to avoid sound bleed, especially as the Park Stage is in a dip and points up the hill slightly. And theres a bank of trees in the way. Looks like Arcadis is going to be on quite a slope. Are they doing the pointy in speakers thing again this year do we know?

Arcadias sound field thing manages to keep the sound in quite well.. as so many people complained about last year.

And as its going to be on longer with a larger selection of DJs, I dont think itll be as busy.

Koreans Sultan of the Disco (who sound ace) and singer-songwriter Jambinai (not the Norwegian metal band of the same name)

Edwin Sanz, who brilliantly describes himself as "an heteroclite artist with multi facet qualities who is at ease in all the different music styles, he plays a large variety of instruments such as congas, timbales, bongo, drums, cajon, djembe, and many others."

Audio visual mashup DJs The Smoke Eaters playing 3 sets. Here's there take on Goldfrapp v Norman Greenbaum:

I'm not really sure this counts, or if it's already been said, but I caught up with Superfood last night after their gig in Cambridge. The drummer, Carl, told me that they were playing the Williams Green tent on the Saturday, as they're in Holland Thursday/Friday. The guitarist from Wolf Alice told me that they were playing at 4 in the afternoon, but he couldn't remember what day.

You have a good point, sir. Back in 2010, I was waiting for Space Ritual to start in the tiny little Rabbit Hole. Nik Turner came on and said Emily, no less, had asked them to wait for half an hour until Laura Marling had finished on the Park Stage, fearing her tiny noise would get blown away by Brainstorm.

Link?

sorry, new to the forum and couldn't work out how to paste a link on the mobile site. I found them by doing a bit of Googling. Here you go:

Link for Ben Pearce at Arcadia - http://gigs.gigatools.com/user/BenPearce

Link for Route 94 - http://www.nge-booking.com/artists/route-94/dates (they are down as playing on the Thursday though dont know if this is true or not)

Richy Ahmed (part of house label Hot Creations) is also listed as playing Glasto on the same website - http://www.nge-booking.com/artists/richy-ahmed/dates

    • Boards of Canada never perform live, I doubt they'll start now. Also Strokes have a show in Barcelona next tour so also less likely.   And adding Nine Inch Noize to the mix And we should definitely get Iggy Pop back before his body completlt dismantles
    • Starmer wagging his finger with a stern warning again. The media are briefed they'll  ban social media for under 16s then he stands up and makes an empty threat on nude images. Why does he keep doing this?
    • My top 5:   1. Little Simz (her appearance with Gorillaz was also one of the highlights of their show. The absolute winner of the weekend) 2. Cure 3. Rilo Kiley 4. Gorillaz. A bit disappointing set for me, compared to last time. Felt like a bad setlist, whenever things started to heat up, they did some new calmer song 5. Florance Road. The good thing thay came out of the rain is being able to see them
    • So since Andy Copping has stepped down and this new booker has taken over, we’ve had Green Day (who Andy never managed to book) and now potentially Blink 182 (another Andy never got done) is this just coincidence or do you think Andy never actually pushed hard for these bands?
