it's a sign of how desperate we all are for info/something positive that people are jumping on this Sharon Von Etten annoucement so much. I mean, she's good and all that, but hardly a surprise/exclusive boking is she? plays a fair bit in the UK, I think. She was over last summer if I remember right.

always nice to hear that an act is playing Glastonbury though (especially as i think a lot of people on here were expecting her to play last year). i'd have a hard time convincing anybody to go see her with me at her own gig, so at Glastonbury i can just wander off and see her myself

Anybody who declines that invitation is a fool, FF!

Just finishing off listening to my lovely clear vinyl pressing of Are We There, in celebration at this mega news. She played the Mountain Stage in the sunshine at Green Man last year and was enchanting. I'd love her to be on at The Park, but wonder if she might get put on early-ish on Pyramid...?

Wherever she plays, I will be there, unless there is a very compelling reason for me not to be...

Brilliant! I only have epic. Need to remedy that

Get on it, Scruffy! You're in for a treat, Are We There is the absolute cat's pyjamas.

Why would they put her on the Pyramid? There's pretty much no reason to.

You need to remember that this is my first GF, chaps! Only suggesting that based on TV Watchers'?internet Readers' knowledge. Hey, if you're confident she's a Park shoe-in, I couldn't be happier. I'm considering pitching the tent in the dead centre in front of the Park stage, so well does it's line up suit me!

That's a great place to pitch & no need to rush to get a spot, it's one of the last places to fill up.

Sorry, wasn't having a pop! I meant that I don't see her attracting or winning over many of the more 'casual fan' types you tend to get at the Pyramid. I feel like she's more likely to have a smaller number of dedicated fans who will actively seek her out, hence The Park.

Way too big for the Acoustic Tent then?

Oh Lord, WL, no pop inferred! Actually when I thought about it, I realised that she is entirely suited to the main stage of many festivals, but not Glastonbury. The closer I get to the festival, the more I feel - with no particular 'problem' for me - that I am likely to spend very little time at the Pyramid. Despite it being my first GF and the Pyramid being the iconic musical venue for the festival, I'm adequately festival battle-scarred not to feel the need to be anywhere other than where I want to.

We watched all three third stage (so pretty damn small!) headliners at Green Man last year and it was, without doubt, my best ever festival for headliner experience.

Park would be just fine with me for SVE.

Yay Sharon Van Etten!

I don't know if anything can top her show at Manchester Cathedral in November, but I'm happy to watch that woman wherever she plays, she's incredible. I don't think I've stopped listening to Tramp since its release, easily one of my favourite albums, her other records are all excellent as well.

I'll try again with tramp.

Are we there is just so good that I'll be judging it against the other

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
