Saw them at Latitude without having heard them before. They were ok, had a pretty lively crowd that seemed to be really into them.

I was in the car, and couldn't actually hear the clip of the interview, just the news headline!

I suspect that they will be playing approximately 87% of all festivals though. They seem to love playing live.

Just looked on Twitter. Absolutely nothing about them playing Glastonbury on their apart from a few people hoping they play.

I suspect you missheard :)

They seem like everyone's mates' band or something. Like nobody's bothered that their tunes are dogshit because they're characters and a great laugh live and have built a diehard fanbase off of it. I guess that's fair enough though, but I've never seen anything like it on such a big scale.

C&TB - And yet apparently they're not even particularly good mates with each other; it's almost about 'the business of being in a band'.

Oh right. You'd think with them being around for so long before getting big they'd probably have a better relationship.

Also, does this tweet about Circa Waves count as a confirmation? I dunno if it means played last year or this year. Not that they were ever particularly unlikely anyway.

And PJ Harvey amongst others, quite a few since she followed Lionel Richie....could cross reference who she follows with tour dates, new material being released to get a rough idea of some new rumours....

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
