After a hiatus, due to the arrival of the next generation of WANGers (aka our 2 children), we are back, bigger and bolder than ever….

Not only are we appearing at the mighty Glastonbury festival, but keep a look out for our 15 Years Of WANG celebrations, later in the year....

WANG returns Friday 27th June
GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL
The Temple Stage - The Common Field

DJ AFX (Rephlex)
REBUILD - Live Acid Jam (A Guy Called Gerald / Graham Massey 808 State)
ELECTRO ELVIS (WANG)
JEROME HILL
CHARLIE KANE (SP23)
MAX VOLUME (SP23)
More acts TBC...

DJ AFX
Richard James aka The Aphex Twin should need no introduction, he performs an ultra rare set for us,
all way can say is ‘Come on you c**ts, let’s have some Aphex acid”

REBUILD (A Guy Called Gerald / Graham Massey 808 State)
Two genuine UK acid house legends reunite for an exclusive live hardware acid jam, without a laptop in sight…
Rebuild was originally a one off exclusive performance for WANG way back in 2007, but was just soo good we had to do it again (and again), but with 3 performances in 7 years they can hardly be described as prolific!
Witness two masters in the art of acid demonstrate just how it’s supposed to be done

ELECTRO ELVIS (WANG)
WANG co-founder and resident DJ, pushes things forward once more with a next generation AVDJ live set

JEROME HILL
Don’t Records head honcho and honorary ‘WANG DJ Assault Squad’ member, Jerome tears it up old-school style on the wheels of steel. One of the world’s most devastating DJ technicians, his cutting’ and scratchin’ of techno beats always gets the crowd rocking

CHARLIE KANE (SP23)
Charlie was born into the heart of the Spiral Tribe sound system where he developed not only a passion for production, waveforms and the hypnotic effect of flashing LED’s but an intuitive understanding of live performance.

MAX VOLUME (SP23)
Born in Berlin on the road with Spiral Tribe, Max Volume attended his first rave at 2 weeks old. Immersed within dance music culture from his first breath, he rapidly honed his musical instincts as a teenager and developed a natural flair for performance and production alike.

Great!

The problem with John Cooper Clarke is that it's never big enough stage/venue and you can never get close. This however is Awesome news ! Just don't tell him I used the word awesome ;)

Excellent news on the Jezabels, really like them , wonder where they'd play, possible Williams Green or Park. Would be early on so good news :)

I think you're right with Williams Green though wouldn't rule out an early afternoon Park appearance ... great band!

First self confirmation for the new Spike stage/area: JJ Rosa, who modestly describes herself thus: "Imagine Prince reborn as a woman, Jimi Hendrix through the prism of Amy Winehouse & cat suit refinery of a 70s Diana Ross. Meet JJ Rosa..."

Added to the playlist

Looks quite good.

OOOh liking a bit of JJ Rosa! Not sure about the Hendrix reference but yeah the little purple fella does spring to mind. Where is "The Spike Stage"?

Ah, it's "in" The Glade. Not sure how that works?

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
