why Metallica for R/Ls? i can't see it, especially if Linking Park are also playing. that already happened in 2003

The Libertines, Linkin Park and Mumfords would be an... interesting set of headliners. not for me, at all, and i'm honestly unsure of how well it'd sell, but there's no denying they're big names. i'm sure a lot of the regular R/Ls punters will go ape for The Libertines (and possibly even Mumfords - may seem weird choice now but as soon as that new single / album is out i'm sure they'll be stupidly big again)

Because I predicted Metallica for R&L after Glasto this year, and I'm not dropping it until I'm proven wrong  I think that The Libertines and Linkin Park Will headline, but not Mumford. I think they'll do V instead. Edited by Andre91

I just can't see Libs sticking around long enough to headline festivals next summer, and I certainly can't see promoters being willing to take the risk...

I thought about the risk if booking them too. I thought that, say if they were booked, they would be the last to be announced, so that if they do implode again before March (or whenever the big main announcement is) then that would leave time to find a replacement.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
