Apparently they're back in America in July which would rule out Lattitude. Glasto makes the most sense, and I really want it to happen... but I have a horrible feeling they'll be at Isle of Wight instead.

the only thing making me think it's not them is the whole '5 biggest bands who've never played' thing. if it weren't for that i'd be quietly confident that they're one of the headliners

A: he may not have been referring exclusively to headliners (Dolly for example).

Or

B: the headliners still aren't nailed on and weren't when the statement was made.

Wasn't it the comment that followed, saying they were acts that had never played the festival before, which people thought ruled them out too?

If they do there will be people that are not fussed and the field may not be completely rammed... but for those that are there it'll be something special. Think they'll win a lot of people over on tv as well.

you could at a push (probably one of the biggest CURRENT bands), but i doubt Eavis does, and they have played before so there's that

Reading everyone's reactions to these shows is making me so impatient for the Blackpool show. Really can't wait for it. Plus doubt there'll be many funny looks for fancy dress since the locals are probably used to it with the amount of stag/hen parties they see.

Not really. Lets see what kind of venues they're doing on their tour but at the moment I wouldn't even put them at Green Day/Muse/Metallica levels let alone alongside the likes of U2 or the Stones. One of the hottest, or trendiest, but not biggest.

Although I guess it depends on how you define biggest, which shows how futile this whole 'biggest bands that have never played' nonsense is.

Honestly? That was possibly one of the greatest gig I've ever been to.

If Arcade Fire don't headline next year it'll be a travesty, tonight was unbelievable, especially when you consider how many songs they could have played

They are such an amazing live band, lovely to hear the new stuff live, it definitely gives it a new dimension. Supersymmetry sounded amazing although despite my earlier protestations I did have a tinge of regret at not seeing Crown of love!

Best gig I've ever been to was the last time they played the Barrowland, playing Funeral.

Thanks to all the London attenders for the reviews, it really has made the build up this week so much more exiting!!
