We'd be in this position even if that jebend hadn't said anything though. All the while both parties have announcements people are going to link the two.

Whilst I admit it's likely to be a coincidence the fact that both T and the Stones have said they're announcing tomorrow, and the fact that there is nothing actually ruling the Stones out (bar maybe cost which can be offset by booking a weaker undercard or letting them headline IOW/R&L as well) means it's more than just 'hope'

(I'm being pedantic here, I can't sleep :P)

Can I be first to mention indie landfill on the new forum? Anyways, now that this has come to light, looks like we might get some on the line up next year :)

Seems very quiet on here considering theres a headliner due to be announced today.

Do you think T twitter message was a hint at Arctic Monkeys, hope it's someone a bit more surprising than them. Seem to be everywhere at the moment, just be nice to be someone different, I don't expect rolling stones but someone not expected as much as Biffy/KOL/AM would be nice!

Any idea on the time of the announcement and if it's just a headliner, had quite a few acts before christmas ticket sales last year!

I can see it now

"The Rolling Stones will headline the Saturday Night" - Geoff Ellis

"I better go to this they were great at Glastonbury!" - Me

3 Months later...

"We are very excited to announce that the other headliners for T in the Park 2014 will be....SNOW PATROL AND KASABIAN" - Zane Lowe

"Fuck you Zane Lowe." - Me

Any evidence on who it may be? Or idea?

If it's not the main names that most are guessing at, we've got a small hunch on who it might be (tho that might turn out to be too much of a presumption) - but I'm not able to give further details because that hunch has come about via some must-stay-confidential info.

If that hunch turns out to be right then it'll go down at least as well overall as the main names that are being rumoured - tho they'll be some who will immediately scream that it's pop crap.... but it'll be no more pop than the T normals over many years.

Relatively amusing reading this thread for the past few days. It is the same every year - everybody gets there hopes up for a massive act, and then bang! We all realise it is TITP that is catering for 18-25 yr olds - who have more interest (in general, there will be exceptions) in Lady Gaga and JT than the Rolling Stones.

Anyway, I hope I am proven wrong. I don't think the Arctics are a bad headliner either - 5 albums, a good set list and a good live band. I would imagine Biffy are a dead cert as well - they need to headline this year or lose that gap of popularity.

Which leaves a more "popular" act - JT, Gaga, Katy Perry etc etc.

    • We had one f**kwit one year come back at 4am and start playing music out loud and sitting under the tree talking. Thankfully his mate was in the tent trying to sleep too and came out and told him to f**k off. After one big argument he did indeed f**k off.   Otherwise I can actually sleep at GM without ear plugs compared to glasto. It's usually typically fine for sleeping at.

    • Yeah, she sold out BST twice and I think she'll return with even more interest.
    • To me MGK doesn't shift tickets, but could appeal to a younger demographic.    Don Broco/Architects/Jimmy Eat World/Turnstile - one or two of these would hit better.
    • I'm going, some friends and relatives will also be there on some days. I'm going on Sunday, then Tuesday to Saturday. I'm staying in the city From the headliners I'm most excited for Florence and twenty one pilots. Smaller acts I'm really looking forward to are: Tomora, Dijon, Wolf Alice and Sigrid
