Worst Food @ Glasto

A lot of threads discussing the best food at Glasto so here's a glass half empty thread dedicated to the absolute worst.

3 for me stand out:

1. Crepe place near West Holts. There were two but this one was nearer Gandhi's Flip Flop (superb veggie korma) - £5.50 for a single pancake; tasted like nothing, bananas were melted and rotten, coconut virtually indistinguishable, single tea spoon of single cream. The worst thing I bought all weekend and a complete waste of time.

2. Kebabylon Lamb Kofta - WAY, WAY, way too spicy for what it was and far too much salad made it virtually impossible to eat without dropping it all over Billy Corgan's ego. The Monday morning trip to the portaloo was... heroic.

3. Fish and chip shop between John Peel and the Pyramid - in nearly 29 years on this earth have I ever eaten a fish that tasted of nothing other than pure grease no matter how much salt and vinegar you drowned it in, and recycled chips that had so much starch in them you could bleach the blood out of Peter Sutcliffe's 30 year old dirty bed linen. Awful, awful, awful food.

Any particular bad food places stand out for you or were you lucky?

I had absolutely terrible fish and chips from the place opposite Wow!, near the toilets. Soggy and tasted of nothing. Wonder if it was the same people.

I also had another growler this year, even though I realize they're crap about 3 bites in every time.

I ate pretty much spot on food all week, however, I couldn't help feeling hard done by after making a purchase at the Haloumi spot on the corner of the Pyramid. The big cone which I thought was filled with cheese was actually a salad wrap with about 5 bits of cheese cleverly laid on top.

The Pyramid stage is usually full of your usual shit in the tray merchants but I thought there was some great stuff this year.

I had a burger and chips from a stall next to the slush stall nearish the rotisserie. Absolutely awful, dry bread, cheese on chips wasn't melted and the woman serving was a miserable c*nt - all for £12!

The "All Day Breakfast" large blue tent between the farmhouse and the flushables. Dreadful food, special mention to probably the worst sausage I've ever eaten. Also the "HOG ROAST!" stall up there didn't seem to sell a single hog roast the whole week whenever I went up there.

Apart from a manky, greasy portion of chips when I was drunk from a stall near the Other stage, everything was fairly good. A chicken tikka wrap from near Arcadia was pretty bland but not awful

Oh actually my girlfriend got some meatballs from the place in the park...while the meatballs themselves were nice, sauce was very bland and pasta was almost cold. Not good

Not really the worst food but definitely the worst service I encountered was the Veggie Burger stall between the bottom of Kidney Mead and the Left side of the Pyramid. Somehow it took them over 10 minutes to make a coffee despite it being very quiet and we didn't even get a hint of an apology, despite them being fully aware of us waiting very patiently.

That Growler. I was starving on the Sunday morning, got one, and my mouth

started watering at the sight of the cheese/bacon/chips combo. But when you sit down

and think about it, it's a roll of shite. !!

Nacho van by Pyramid was beautiful food.

A burger place near the road going to the chameleon bar.

Was looking for a nice burger on Sunday and found this smallish red stall called something like "free range, ethical burgers and eggs" paid £7 for a bacon and egg burger and it was one of the worst burgers and rip off Id ever seen.

Load of massive burgers on the grill and the front, I ask for one and the lad walks to the back and comes back with a burger that only filled half of the small bun he gave me.

Real disappointment but it was the only bad food I had all week

Utterley dreadful and even my drunken taste buds couldn't handle it!

Cornish pasty stall on run between pyramid and spirit of 71 need to work on their cheese and onion pasties. Oddly, their normal pasties were lush (don't ask why we went back). Creperie as mentioned above. And the worst coffee on site award goes to the camp cook down in Hell. Which I was so shocked at - I expected epic foods from that corner for some reason.
