when Gorillaz did stand in in 2010 there was talk of shifting the west holts gig around so mos def could play.

Dont think it happened in the end, but something similar can be done, especially as set times havent been released.

I stand by what I've said, if Mumford pull out. Kasabian will headline the Sunday.

Also I don't think Mumford are pulling out, I think this is simply Mumford haters trying to make it impossible for the chances of a stand in bassist.

I'm guessing if Kasaban are a festival exclusive and they play Glasto, they'll breack their contract, hence possibly not being paid and/or being take to court?

M&S will have to give a yay or nay soon, the festival's less than two weeks away! I'm planning on a boogie in the JP on the Sunday so it'll have to be someone pretty special for me to change my plans.

But surely that only matters in the context of selling tickets? Glasto is sold out, so announcing Kasabian for the Sunday isn't going to affect HRC's sales? In fact, it might actually increase sales for HRC as people see Kasabian's name in the news and think 'Oh, I might actually quite like to see them'...

a mate of mine who goes to a ridiculous number of gigs and is truly obsessive about his music saw NY in Newcastle the other night and said it was one of the half-dozen best gigs he has ever seen in his life. That's high praise.

I wouldn't worry about the band getting blown away by the elements - whoever's working the soundboards for them is doing incredible work. Simultaneously rumbling like distant, ominous thunder but clear as a bell. Pin sharp and yet rough as sandpaper.

    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • Liddle: "Drop a small nuclear bomb on Glastonbury to immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”   Farage: Free speech!    Polanski: accepts a collaboration on 20 innocuous looking set of photos on instagram but doesn't notice that one that says 'making plans for Nigel' with a guillotine image.   Farage: I expect the MET police to arrest him.
    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
