likewise, do you know it's against the human rights of a journalist to get given a press pass but to not also have a plus-one with it? :P

There is no legal duty of care towards the health of a freelancer - only employees. The freelancer has his own duty of care to himself.

Even if they are shifting people across (e.g. xx) they will need an extra band. Let's just cut a few options out.

The National, Leonard Cohen, Sigur Ros, Bruce Springstein all have gigs that night. Neil Young is in town but seems unlikely.

Blur and Kasabian are around and gigging. So are The Killers and Stone Roses. Out of those four I can only see Stone Roses as a possibilty.

An interesting dilemma for the festival it goes without saying. One would think theyve been told by the festival to shit or get off the pot, as it were.

:D

I reckon they'll play Glastonbury, London, Dublin with a roadie on bass but cancel Oz and Japan.

At such a late stage surely they'd be wanting someone who can set up a reasonably easyove show in terms of the stage set? Therefore think we can rule out the likes of Daft Punk or anybody who isn't touring in the UK at the time. Kasabian, KOL, Killers, Stone Roses could easily plug their instruments in without any fancy stage and get n with it. Would be happy with any of the four but stone roses would be an absolute dream

I'm indifferent to this either way but be honest here, if this had all been kept a secret and they just got someone else to play his part who would actually have noticed?! I have no idea which one he is at all!

    • Either or. They both play the same venues.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
