I wasn't sure how I'd feel about him singing the Smiths stuff but that's actually pretty good. I'll be seeing him at Bestival for sure & possibly Glastonbury clashes permitting. It would be nice to see him include a few more tracks that Morrissey often neglects in his setlists.

I saw him last week, was superb. Would be very hard for me to miss him. He played five Smith's songs which were all superb and a real range of solo stuff, along with a couple of covers.

I'm already bored of the envitable rumours that Morrissey is going to show up and play. I imagine they will be rife from day 1.

I saw him in Leeds a few weeks ago and he was brilliant. A real understated showman. Plus, he does Smiths songs 1000 times better than Moz and his band.

That wouldn't be difficult. It upsets me to hear Morrissey doing Smiths songs as while the singing is great, his band just destroy them. I've heard Smiths tribute bands 10 times better than the ham-fisted, clunky pub musicians Moz is so attached to

Now now, lets not be silly. Guitar wise yes, vocally just no.

I was actually surprised at how well Johnny carried off the songs vocally, given that he isn't a singer in the performative sense. Granted, his voice doesn't have the character of Morrissey's, but overall I infintely prefer his renditions

I just wish Moz would get a better band, I've been saying that for years. He's lucky in that his voice has kept both its strength & character & yet parts of his performances are let down by the musicians he chooses. Imagine Moz singing & Marr playing guitar/backing vocals, I shudder at how good they could be, they'd certainly show the Stone Roses a thing or two about putting on a decent reunion show.

But then again, perhaps the legacy is best kept as it stands.
