gully sounds good although it will be incredibly busy if it stays open all night due to the location near the big stages. i think an arcadia move will sort the probs out with overcrowding. im intersted to know what will happen to the space arcadia take up if it moves. some more camping maybe?

this announcement is surely proof, were it ever needed, that Glastonbury organisers read efests.

we've had discussions about the dance village on here, and i see our reccomendations have been taken on board.

dance village re-think? check.

return to a big dance tent? check.

use ideas from shangri la et al? checkity check.

well done everyone, you can feel proud of your efforts.

The Gully does sound intersting. Even as someone who doesn't like dance music at all, I'm tempted to have a wander through to see what it's like.

Sounds a little like Shangri-La has been with the rat runs the last few years.

My walk through will probably be at a swift pace as I mutter away to myself stuff about there being no guitars and it sounding like the needle is stuck. I shall be in full old git mode but who knows, maybe it'll convert me.

Calling into dance areas at festivals has made me understand why people enjoy it but it does nothing for me.

As (I think) someone has asked already but it looks like they were miss-understood, is it still in the same location as the dance village was or has it moved?

Surely N.Y State Of Mind would be his "hit"? Or Hip Hop Is Dead?

To give a bit of a background for those who don't know, Nas playrd a major role in the evolution of hip hoppity in recent years. Illmatic was basically a seminal debut record when it came out. He then went into a bit of a war with our friend Jay-Z which was one of the biggest incidents in hip hop in recent years, and resulted in several bits backwards and forwards. They eventually came to a bit of a peace process and it went down in history.

He's also been famed in recent years for his work with Saleem Remi, Damian Marley and Amy Winehouse.

the Nas & Damian stuff is riding too-much off the back of the great work of others, which is better than their reworkings.

    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
    • I sacrificed the first hour of the cure for Role model yesterday and oh man that was a good bet! That guy and his band are insanely good and an hour long only bangers!

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
