All this hatred for Outlaw Pete? It's one of my favs (okay, maybe there are linked reasons for that)!! Before G09 I was v anti Bruce headlining, wasn't a fan at all despite having grown up with my Dad banging on about him and Dylan. Got into him a while before and I've never looked back! I thought the set was brilliant in 09, but agree he seems to 'get' what's expected at a Europe fest now. Manchester set list was perfect, is a Paris gig next year confirmed then?

He he, I almost wish I was, as then I wouldn't have to put up with my Dad's constant, 'see I always said The Boss was better than all that Blur crap you listened to, yer Old Man is always right'. Etc etc etc etc... He IS a superfan but did get overexcited at Manc and told everyone that '5th Avenue Freezeout' was his favourite song, not let him Forget that one!!!!

he'll almost definitely be back in europe..... since his first steps into festival-land he's already returned to some festivals.... it's been rumoured on the Springsteen forums.... and... well, a bit of wishful thinking by those who'd like to see him again.

I'd like to see him again, but not fussed if it's Glastonbury or anywhere, really...

well, anywhere apart from Hyde Park

He didn't say that. He said you heard 30 seconds-ish into the second song didn't you? At most two songs wasn't it you said?

I started to bail out of the crowd after 30 seconds. He was into the 3rd song at least before I was out of earshot (and it might have been the 4th or 5th, cos the first stop was the bar by the cider bus ).

Equally many on here are saying they enjoyed it. Both are true. Some liked it, some didn't.

I've never suggested that loads didn't enjoy it hugely. The issue has been that lots of those who enjoyed it hugely can't accept that loads of people found it hugely dull.

It's always a joy when threads about Bruce turn into slanging matches.

One thing I don't get is why people who are fans of Bruce or U2 are labelled as fanboys or superfans if they refuse to think that a certain song is dull.

In this case, anyone who likes Outlaw Pete is being labelled as some sort of blinkered, somewhat insane, Bruce stalker who wouldn't know a good song if it bit them on the arse.

Personally, I'm not averse to it, quite like the album it's taken from but it's clearly not one of his best.

And I'm a Liverpool fan. Clearly the world is against me.

It's not because they don't think a song is dull, it's because they refuse to accept that others find it dull.

they would have to be insane. :P

If they like the song they might as well listen to the Kiss original it's a rip-off of.
