Good job avoiding my question though, Moyles. Your secret's safe with me.

I swerved it cos what I like has nothing to do with Outlaw Pete being dreadful - even the Bruce fanboys are backing me on this one, take note.

I could give you a list but most would pass you by I suspect. To keep it simple I'll say what I don't much like, which is the vast majority of stuff that Glastto has on the Pyramid, Other & JP. Mostly you'll find me around Jazzworld West Holts.

do you really think the person who runs this website doesnt like music :/

the fact you are blindly defending even the poor bruce springsteen songs makes you look a bit of a dimwit.

I am a massive flaming lips fan, and I can quite comfortably admit they have done some shockingly shit stuff

It doesnt make you less of a fan to admit some of bruce's stuff is a load of dung

I'm a Bruce fanboy, I don't back you. Take note.

And really, I couldn't care how pretentious you are, nor what you assume to be my taste in music. Honestly. I only asked if you liked music, a simple yes or no answer would have sufficed.

Cheers Moyles.

Yep, i'm the pretentious one, what with me pretending to be Moyles. ;lol:

Unlike Moyles, I like music. Which is why I don't like Bruce. :P

But you'd better be careful with your Moyles comments, else a certain poster with a big liking for both Moyles and Bruce will be biting your arse.

I'll continue to feel free to say what I think is shit is shit. If there's ever a discussion here about a band I like i'll wade in there too. I won't be letting your own pretentiousness stop me. :)

Sorry... Where did I say I took it personally? I was more curious as to why I've never seen Neil make a positive comment about a musical act.

then that's because you're only reading the topics about the shit acts. ;lol:

In the topics which aren't about the shit acts, you can find my words making positive comments. :)

most fans of Bruce have admitted that the Glastonbury performance was disappointing .. most have expressed a dislike of a number of songs, especially Outlaw Pete...

it couldn't possibly an intolerance of non-Bruce fans who are trying to convince 'us' that we're somehow deluded, and your take (that he's dull) is the 'truth'...?

could it?

Tony, i'll remind you that I merely stated my opinion to be hit back by countless Bruce fanboys telling me that it was impossible that anyone could find him dull, that I couldn't have met anyone afterwards at Glastonbury who'd found him dull - that I'd lied about meeting those people was explicitly said to me!!

I merely stood up for my opinion and the truth of who I'd met and what they'd said.

Over a year down the line, Bruce's dullness at Glastonbury is even being admitted to by the Bruce fanboys - which gets to prove themselves wrong for all they said immediately afterwards. And plenty of others who saw him have posted that they also found him dull since back then too.

But this dull thing is something made up by just me, no one else thought the same, and i won't shut up about it. Yeah, OK. laugh.png

The issue Neil is that you had pretty much the strongest negative opinion of anyone and you left 30 seconds into the 2nd song. And the first song was a one time only cover version.

1. I didn't. I merely said he was dull, and then had to fight the flaming which came my way.

2. I heard massively more than just 30 seconds, as i've said many times.

And so yet again I'm having to resort to re-stating what I said, because Bruce fans want to mis-represent it (presumably in defence of their hero). ;)

All this hatred for Outlaw Pete? It's one of my favs (okay, maybe there are linked reasons for that)!! Before G09 I was v anti Bruce headlining, wasn't a fan at all despite having grown up with my Dad banging on about him and Dylan. Got into him a while before and I've never looked back! I thought the set was brilliant in 09, but agree he seems to 'get' what's expected at a Europe fest now. Manchester set list was perfect, is a Paris gig next year confirmed then?

he was .... alright. Nothing more, nothing less. i went cos one of my best mates is a big fan, otherwise I doubt I'd have bothered. But anyway, yeah, nothing special, nothing terrible. Bit dull, but you know, most sets should only be an hour or so anyway, I reckon.
