From what I've seen of the ideas for Shangri La there will still be a queueing system.

As she says other side of the site, I don't think you'd call the Park the other end, and I do wonder if the other late night area will be in the dance area.

I do wonder if the other late night area will be in the dance area.

if it is, it'll be whispered noise level only.

I really can't see how they'd be able to either strike a deal with the villagers about noise, or manage the noise at a low-enough volume so they don't need to strike a deal. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

There will still be hidden venues and an area to explore - full interview coming Monday with more details on that.

I think moving Arcadia is a great idea - I love to do the exploring and enjoyed Campo Pequano, The Common and Shangri La which never really had the crowds hit them as much as Arcadia did for that full on rave - trouble is you had to get passed that, and queue to get to the rest, glad I made the decision to get in early, and avoid the mahoosive queues.

Must say I'm delighted with this news. Arcadia was my least favourite area(not that its not great, but the others just have better music IMO

It was always the most packed though, so hopefully there should be a nice split and it'll be more like 2010,where there was loads of space in the other areas.

It's unlikely and I imagine it won't happen this soon but....I'm just watching blur at Hyde park on DVD, and its amazing. 2009 Sunday night was one of the best nights of my life.....

I know you should never go back, and I believe it won't happen(for someone shit like Mumford and sons)...but if they did it right how incredible would it be to have blur headline Glastonbury again...

it's going to be in the North East - I wasn't told where specifically but in the area (direction) of the dance village

This isn't a final decision. I spoke to Emily yesterday, she said "Something's going on, but It's too early to say at the moment, but there are some changes going on. More because the late night stuff is very crowded, and I don't think the one way system really worked, but we are in the middle of (sorting out) that at the moment, and it's a bit too early to say. We'll probably say what's happening early next year, that's when the actual announcements go out about the details. At the moment it's still at the ideas stage and we are meeting everyone, and hearing about all the concepts and plans and ideas."

Looks like all the ideas are very much up in the air, and nothing is finalised yet, and that the Arcadia move (or where it moves) is not a done deal. The ideas now may be totally different by spring time, and what they are talking about at the moment may not necessarily happen. The main thing was I think that Emily and co wanted to make it as 'de-congested' as possible.

Arcadia have told us that a press release is due this week - which should include its new location. I'll leave that for them to announce.

What I've also heard - tho I'm not sure if it's true or not - is that Arcadia will run for only 3 hours each day, after the bands have finished, and that it won't include any live acts this year.
