Just flicked back through the last few pages to learn nothing at all apart from maybe id be the only one here happy if AC DC were actually announced .

Any idea what the time of the announcement is? I thought it was 9am but that was obviously for tickets.

You did for sure.

They were the worst headline act I have ever seen... Maybe Rihanna over took that this year but only just and I walked off for her at T.

Blink were actually much better in 2010 than RHCP in 07.

Blink weren't great either but you could enjoy the set tho unlike Peppers who were literally every aspect of the set was fucking shit.

Cue the odd nutter who says they were great live/good on youtube.

I hope they don't headline now just to spare you poor sods haha!

i really enjoyed Blink. i know it wasn't actually a great performance, but they gave the crowd what they wanted - a greatest hits set. no more. no less. Chili Peppers looked bored as fuck, played an awful setlist, and everything about it was horrible. would be surprised if a UK festival ever goes near them again (unless said festival gets desperate, like Coachella seemingly did this year)

IOW have been after them since then but my theory is they are avoiding UK fests due to the stigma of the R&L shows.

I don't think it's bizarre that someone would avoid this thread.

Yep.

Been away from the forum for a bit, is gazza still going then? What's his username now?

The chances of guessing the headliners are pretty high if you've scoured through this, look at who's available, likely to play R&L & ruling out anyone playing current & previous line ups.

(only a massive push up to a headlining spot would make a prediction wildly out)

For what its worth Kerrang have just tweeted that they have the big RandL announcement at 8, making Arctics unlikely as they don't cover them.

AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Blink 182, Queens of the Stone Age, Slipknot, Paramore.

All those are covered by Kerrang so expecting one of them. No idea who

    • I mean Two Door Cinema Club from that era have sold out Crystal Palace Bowl and played the O2 before. So there are indeed precedents.   I guess it depends how far the 2000s/2010s indie hierarchy we go before we truly find one that ends up getting blue dot fever.

    • Jesse Malin at Manchester Halle St Peter's last night.   So good to see him back touring after the trauma he has been through, him and the backing band sounded great.   Support was Bason. I quite enjoyed him, but man, that guy cannot sing.
