I've not seen this discussed on here, My club (Swindon) has been hitting the headlines of late.

Luke McCormack (http://www.telegraph...nken-crash.html) has been training once a week since January while on day release.

STFCs name has been dragged in the mudd since this went public this week http://www.thesun.co...indon-Town.html these last few days, pretty uncomfortable reading - most papers and radio debates seem to have all the wrong details too.

I don't have a problem with penalties, in wc.2006 Italy didn't want to take on the Germans at penalties, so they attacked and it paid off. Penalties may be a difficult way to lose, but many teams only have themselves to blame for settlin for them.

I'm a fan of penalties. I think it trains teams in discipline and concentration, which are obviously vitally important throughout the game anyway.

In the old American league (NASL? The one the Cosmos played in) one of the things they did was drop the ball in the centre circle and the player had thirty seconds, one on one with the keeper.

Of course we could just have a "which team has the most players convicted in a court of law" game. Or "who can give me the best holiday".

With regards to England, I would be fairly happy with England playing with two wingers, and a striker through the middle. The thing is, ideally, I'd have Defoe in the middle and Rooney on the wing. However, if you're going to play a game involving lots of crosses, it would be foolish to play Defoe, who would probably be head height on Downing's crosses, when you've got Crouch/Carroll. I'd definitely play Crouch over Carroll, purely for experience, but I'm hoping Roy doesn't go down the route of lump it in the box.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing how Ireland get on though.

Maybe this rule was meant for the right reason at one point but now it just means that the likes of sol campbell get paid by pompey before the local painter, it needs to go in my opinion.

Hulk to chelsea would be interesting, amazing how many brazilians are in the league now. Also heard Vertonghen to spurs, he is good in football manager, not sure about real life, however they defintely need a new centre back. Ranieri to spurs seemed to come out of the blue, be interesting to see him at a smaller club. Again a bit of a kick in the teeth to young british managers but defintely one of the good guys.

I agree on the defending stance. It's not a disgrace if a team wins by defending. People might not like it, but it's part of the game. If ya don't like it then you don't like the sport.

I heard an interesting proposal about removing a player from each team every couple of minutes until someone scores. Could work. Would certainly be entertaining.
