3 in a year including Holden. Bolton more skillful than Arsenal then?

Shit news though, and wish them all a swift recovery. When's Holden back?

I think parker is a funny one, even though I feel he was a little overated last season, you would think there would be more interest for the writers player of the season. The trouble is it is his last big move and I think bigger sides will be put off paying his wages considering he would likely end up a squad player while lesser teams wont be able to afford him. He could possibly do a job for a team like everton or villa.

Heard a lot about scholes on the radio in the last couple of days in terms of how he will be remembered. The general consensus on talk sport seemed to be that gerrard and possibly lampard were better players. However on the world football phone in had its two main presenters calling him the best player of the so called generation and the first player footballers worldwide mention when discussing english football. I get the impression that gerrard is higher rated in the UK .while scholes is higher rated abroad. Personally I'm inclined to agree with the latter and rate scholes the best English player since gazza. Why the difference in opinion I'm not sure, possibly because gerrard has played the media game a bit.more in the UK, which won't have influenced opinions worldwide. Another reason could be man utds higher champions leagues profile. Gerrard will be remembered for a long time by UK fans but I suspect not worldwide.

Think Villa would make sense.

With Everton, kinda okay really in midfield with Cahill, Fellaini, Arteta etc. I'd think they'd probably hope to give Rodwell gametime aswell, to raise his profile/value again. Injuries stagnated his progress slightly.

I wouldn't know, but possibility they fast-track Barkley aswell like they did Rooney. Benj?

when the likes of xavi and zidane say scholes was(is from last nights match)the best midfielder of his generation that will do for me, doesnt matter what journo and jokers that ring in talksport.

scholes 10 prems

gerrard 0

that will do for scholesy.

Interesting article, looks like some of these out of contract players dont hold the cards that people assume. Hitzelberger has clearly taken a big hit turning down west ham. The likes of him and upson probably thought they would get a mid table premiership side and may end up with the likes of wigan or wolves. Big risk leaving it this late to find a club, will take a while to get match fitness. Then again if they dont find a premiership side sven will probably give them a job.

Sneijder: "All I know is that Inter need money and that I'm for sale if the right offer comes in"

Why didn't Mancini bring on Aguero yesterday?! Something about defending from set pieces or something?

By the way, did anyone see City fans with their "Englands Barcalona" sign in the stand?:lol::lol:

I listened to about half the match in the radio - and Steve Clarridge was taking the piss out of that something rotten, as well as generally slagging off the total lack of ambition by City.

The way he was saying it, City are a million miles away from matching Utd, tho of course yesterday's result says something a little different. But all the same it doesn't sound like Mancini has any other way of approaching games than we've seen already - which of course means that they're unlikely to do much better than they did last season, and might even mean it's them that are the team to miss out on a top four place at the end of the coming season.

Daily Mail has picked up a sales brochure of the how much the Blackburn players are paid and is below for anyone intrested...

* Keith Andrews is on £21,000-a-week and an extra £2,000 for every game. His wages also increase every time he plays five Premier League games - and an annual extra payment of £26,667. MK Dons are also entitled to 10% of any profit over his purchase price of £1 million.

* Vince Grella is on £30,000-a-week with a further £6,000 a game. Blackburn are asking for a £500,000 loan fee if he goes - and all of his salary paid.

* El-Hadji Diouf is also on £30,000 a week and a further £5,000 per game. All of his salary would need to be paid if West Ham want to take him on loan.

* Nikola Kalinic is on a flat rate of £30,000 a week and soon set to join Juande Ramos' side Dnipro.

    • I saw this just after it was posted yesterday, I barely paid attention to it. I didn't realise it had blown up in the way it has. I'm sure (kind of) that Sziget will be unaffected - it brings in billions of huf over a very short period. Its consumption, compared to the rest of Budapest, will be tiny in reality. That said, nothing wrong with encouraging people to use less energy whether it's now or in the future.
