I own no records by either JayZ nor Dizzee Rascal. My point is from having seen both perform at the festival I enjoyed Dizzee more.

If GF have been a caught short as it seems, why not give someone a leg up that has paid his dues and entertained every time he has performed at the festival (bar the Arctics fiasco - not his fault etc).

Their "standing" or importance to the genre is irrelevant here. Their ability to connect with a field in Somerset is what I'm referring to - from personal experience Dizzee is better at that than the self-proclaimed "greatest rapper alive".

all i know it dizzee was bloody good when he subbed it 2010. Blew gorillaz away. Infact we said at the time he could've headlined it instead himself. The crowd was massive! Subbing the pyramid Saturday or headline wouldn't be that much of a shock. I actually realise why suggesting a other stage show would be a no now.

Could he sub to arctics, as a dancey split between Noel and and them?

Don't want to seem like a Dizee cheerleader as I don't really care, but let's say it's true that Glastonbury has no third headliner, is paying the Stones £1million and is going to have to give someone a bump up who may not be an obvious headliner. If it isn't Dizzee, who is it then?

Dizzee Rascal as a headliner... fucking hell. i have no issues with him or his music. actually love some of his music (even some of the later pop stuff) but.. headlining Glastonbury seems just a step up too much. i know he subbed last time and (apparently) nailed it, but i honestly can't see many people getting excited over him headlining

also, what've i missed that's made people start putting the Stones as a Sunday rumour on their lineup predictions rather than the Saturday? that comment that Mick made about rain and Sundays?

I think the Sunday thing has come from him mentioning Sunday in those recent quotes, yeah. But someone dug out an old quote of his slagging Glastonbury, where he goes on about how it always rains on the Sunday - so I reckon he's got a bit of a hang-up about the Sunday.

However .... I reckon Michael might get a right ear-bashing from the locals if he gave them Dizzee on the Sunday when the fest had the Stones on the Saturday - so perhaps days have been swapped around for a reason as simple as that. I don't think it's impossible.

And actually, if days have been changed around, that might mean Arctics on the Saturday.

Ive wondered before just how important the Sunday headliner is before, in the sense the locals want something good. Does it have that much of a bearing? Does Michael Eavis have to seriously take the local residents and the local tickets and their potential ear bashing in to account?

I kind of get it but wondered if it really mattetred that much?

I don't know how much it might effect what he chooses to do, but I know he sometimes gets stick off locals for some of the Sunday headliner choices, and so I've been told he'd rather not get that stick (fairly obviously, really).

I can't think of any major reasons why he wouldn't swap things around if he could tho, to give them a more widely-acceptable headliner. Then again I'm probably not taking everything into consideration.

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
    • E-mail summarizing Saturday - Primavera Sound 2026 Journal Day 3. As in previous days, it's going to be on the website soon, I think.
    • I was surprised as well. I met more than 20 different people on both Friday and Saturday that had come in reusing QR codes.
