Oh mick, you sly worded man.

I'm just abit afraid that they may be pressured into doing it! And that will result in them not putting on a set as great as it would be if they wanted to play :/

I think the Jagger quotes are quite interesting, this far in he knows exactly whats on the table for The Stones and the different permutations.. He didnt say no, I know he didnt say yes either but I can think of a number of reasons why he wouldnt confirm just now.

I'm going to be a glass half full guy on this one and see it as a positive (for those of us who would like to see The stones at Glastonbury).

I am NOT saying this means they will play, but I do see it as a little positive tilt in a positive direction.

I get quite confused with all the comments saying that it's all the bands choice. I thought that it was managers and producers that sort everything out, and the actual artist/band doesn't have much say in it at all?

Probably going to get a shed load of comments saying I'm wrong.

Here's the NME quotes:

Asked about the Stones' plans for the next 12 months, Jagger said: "Well, I'm just looking at what offers are coming in for this year and sorting them out. I hate announcing things when they're not booked. People are always like, 'Yakety yak, you didn't do that in the end', and I say, 'Well, yeah, we never really announced it!'"

He later added: "All I'm doing at the moment is sifting through the possibilities, looking at the dates and how each one can fit in and so on. And then we'll see what we can come out with." Asked if one of those possibilities was playing Glastonbury, Jagger said:

There are other things in the world, you know, apart from Glastonbury! But then again, Glastonbury is very important. It seems to be very important to my children – highlight of their year!

Later on in the interview, which you will find in this week's NME (available on newsstands now), Jagger dropped his most clear hint about The Rolling Stones playing this year's Glastonbury festival to date. Jagger asked: "But is it going to be rainy on the Sunday? Isn't it nearly always rainy on the Sunday?"

"most clear hint" :sarcastic:

Do your filters block swearing? Because Mardy was effing and jeffing a bit on the last page.

Either that, or it's because someone mentioned the Vaccines, and your filters are as sick of them as the rest of us!

:banghead:

    • First outdoor gig of the season for me last night. David Byrne in a soaking wet St Anne’s Park. Absolutely spectacular (didn’t expect anything less to be fair!). If you get a chance to catch him on this tour, don’t hesitate. At least half the set were Talking Heads classics. Marvellous all round (ok, I’ll let him away with the song about how much he loves his apartment😁).  IMG_1177.dng

    • Don Broco secret set.
    • Regarding PinkPantheress: I watched the ending of The Cure from the back and then bolted straight to Cupra to save spots on the steps for my entire festival crew. Thus, we all had a good experience there. Sucks that not everybody got to properly see it, but it felt like something out of Glastonbury where those who showed up long in advance got to see a big artist on a smaller stage in good conditions.
