The more this stones saga goes on, the more I want Eavis to tell the stones to go fuck themselves. I was quite excited by the prospect of the stones about a year ago, but this being my first proper exposure to how they treat people, as time has gone on, the more and more I realise that they are just lowlifes who are taking glastonbury festival -- the organisers, participants, punters, beneficiaries --- for mugs.

Fuck em. A year ago I would have gone to see the stones, now I won't go anywhere near it.

This is what I don't understand. From what is being reported the Rolling Stones have apparently been offered a millon to play this years festival and this is the bands fault? It's not as if they've agreed to play and then keep raising their fee......if anyone is to blame for this it is the festival organisers.

I'm not entirely sure it's all a one way thing.

There's certainly some stuff that's going around which has said that the Stones have said that Glastonbury need to up the amount on offer for there to be a chance of the Stones playing.

I've no idea if it's true, but I strongly suspect that if Eavis "offered £1M last week" that it's an improved offer and not the first one.

All the tickets are already sold so I'm not sure why they don't just go a cheaper option.......I personally don't believe the millon pound figure anyway.

I'd be very suprised if Michael has offered £1Million for The Stones. That sort of amount would surely impact on the total given to WaterAid, Oxfam etc and I think people underestimate the importance Michael attaches to the charitable aspect of the festival.

So they'll blow all their budget on one show?!

I don't see it as impossible that they'd throw an offer at that level at the Stones - particularly if they're still looking for that 3rd headliner.

Cos if they're still looking for that 3rd headliner it's not too likely to be one that people will think of as a headliner. If they lose the Stones too then that's repeated (but even further down the list) for another headliner, and then 'the show' in future years could be impacted by that.

It sounds to me like Glasto might have got to the position where they really do need the Stones, if for no other reason than to give them confidence into the future.

It makes me laugh how people are saying "it's disgusting" and the like, but I doubt much of the thoughts that are driving that impacts into their own lives and choices (at least for some).

Yes, the stones are over-paid - but so is everyone earning more than the average wage. The differentials at every level of wage have become too extreme.

So who is voting for a pay cut for themselves along with one for the stones....?

    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
