Were primal scream? Orbital? Flaming lips? Phonics arguably bigger than those - the academy tour for new album is a choice not a necessity, I'm pretty confident of an arena tour late in the year which the above mentioned couldn't. I think there's a lot of mixing up of opinion and actual popularity with this band!

Have people who are suggesting Stereophonics for Other Stage headliners actually seen the size of the field? It's not like headlining the NME stage at Reading, you would need a genuine headliner sized crowd to fill that field. It would be empty of the Stereophonics headlined, would be a pretty ineffective way of splitting the crowd

Look this is a long shot.

But a friend of mine went to kanye's hammersmith apollo gig last night, and spoke to a few of the staff backstage, they said to him that apparently these are taster shows that will amount to kanye going on tour in the summer.

If he does a summer tour, will that make glastonbury more likely?

I'm still placing all my faith in Prince headlining Sunday, Mumfords are not whats required ffs, their brit performance was terrible.

I dont get it people, lets stop trying to put a positive slant on them potentially closing the

festival, if they do it'll be sh1t - you all know it.

If not Prince then Justin Timberlake (things I never thought I 'd say). His performance the other night was great, full of life and genuinely entertaining :)

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
