Glastonbury Food

Hi,

Another of my favourite threads last year where all the tales of the different food stalls that can be found at Glasto. I was genuinely shocked by the amazing variety of food that you can find, so was hoping that people could give hints on the best places to eat?

My big excitement last year was when I discovered the Falafel stalls. I'd never had them before, but after my first I seemed to eat them every day, they were so refreshing in the baking heat.

The stalls that tempted me, but I was never brave enough to try where the Jerk stalls that were dotted about. I love spicy food, but I was wary of the consequences at glasto.....

My big disappointment was trying the legendary Growler. After reading all about them on here, I saved my trip there for the last day, and was gutted. Its just a bacon sandwich with bloody chips on!

Does anyone remember the fish stall that was up near the entrance to the acoustic/kidz field? Hasn’t been there since 2005 I think. He had prawns bigger than your head and did a great paella type dish too.

If I find out who he is* Im starting a campaign to bring him back.

* He may still be on site and 1st in a different location but I haven’t found him.

I ate/drank much on Thursday last year and ended up bloated beyond belief, and had to go to my tent at 11pm to lie in the foetal position trying to parp it off.

This year: REMEMBER RENNIES.

A couple of years ago I went to some organic place by the Glade. There was a meal deal thing for £7.50. I ordered that, but they were out of samosas (FYI, it came with a samosa). I asked if I could have something in its stead. AND THEY SAID NO! And they already had my money so I got massively jipped

There was a vegetarian mexican place in the Park last year that did an amazing veggie fajita. Think there was down between the pyramid and other stages as well.

MUst have had around 6 of them over the 5 days!!

Tried about 4 different crepe places and they were all shite. Really doughy and undercooked.

I did stumble across a few other tasty meals as well, maybe noodles or an indian, but I was pretty f**ked so they don't stick in the memory.

    • You can judge who you want to get a high slot next with the Lolla headliner performances from the weekend. Cause people think Tate Mcrae is the best thing out there for some reason. And some other cool acts, plus you can laugh at how bad the camera work is cause disney is cheap.
    • Fontaines getting the honour of the last ever BBC Maida Vale session going out on 6 Music shortly.   No Glastonbury relevance (for now.. ), just thought I'd mention it for those who are interested 😎
    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
