  2. Interview (in Spanish) with PS co-director Alfonso Lanza in Barcelona newspaper La Vanguardia https://www.lavanguardia.com/cultura/musica/20240321/9575757/alfonso-lanza-primavera-sound-director-entrevista-novedades.html Decent read though no great revelations. They have sold 80% of tickets so it will be sold out, ie 65/70k a day [not sure this is a given, myself] Overall happy with stage arrangements from last year Tough competing with the mega multinational promoters but PS independence/kudos is also an advantage Costs always rising, €30m budget for artists plus production. Artist fees have more than doubled in last 10 yrs Ticket revenue lower than last year because so many bought early doors, 55/60% from outside Spain Great relations with BCN town hall, contract til 2026. Both parties recognise no forum means no Primavera. Any issues are more to do with noise, crowds etc bothering locals Happy with current number/distribution of days in festival Brexit was a blow but situation has improved this year other stuff about latin america and music industry in general. more than 10 cities interested in hosting a PS event incl in Germany and Sweden

  4. I would agree - there are some roles that can be made viable with a RA and there are some that can't and the charities and orgs should be clear about that. I may be reaching the end of my ability to litterpick for example and I am ok with that as I think they should be able to specify x, y, z. Other roles should have very clear RA policies and make sure that they are delivering what they say they wil. What they shouldnt do is claim one thing and do another.

  6. They already said they are not. Please can you move on now and not take over this thread with negativity. Oxfam have clear contact details and a complaints procedure if anyone wants to raise their issues.

  10. she’s probably coming on the 11th, right ? @Sziget2024_Leaks edit: Yeah she is. If you look closely there seems to be a “g” below that TBA sticker and I just looked for any other festival happening around that time that contains the letter “g” and there’s none:)) So here’s our female headliner most likely

  15. For anyone having issues with Brothers competition site I got following feedback: There are certain scenarios with browser where maybe a double click causes the problem although in most cases there is a block on a second click. The first click is the successful entry while the second is trying to enter again but is so soon after that the user doesn't see the message yet and is told the code has already been used... Which it has by that user less then a second earlier. We are monitoring this and will look to solve this unusual scenario but apologies for now. If you enter again, please make sure to single click the entry button.

  18. I wanted Stevie Nicks tickets today and Nick Cave but knew I couldn't afford both. Got 2 Cave tickets for 70 quid each at the old Manchester Arena in the pre sale.... Stevie Nicks wanted 200 quid for a seat in the gods at this new money pit arena in Manchester. with the 60 quid booking fee and other fees and fees on your fees the price for 2 tickets was ..... £469. oh and if you want a few drinks after the gig you can pay for their after gig party - £40 quid each but you do get one drink included in that... bargain. The world has gone mad. ps there are lots of tickets left

  23. That's the 11th so she'd be subbing Sam Smith, which is a pretty good slate imo. To fan the flames, Oya festival seems to be the one before last, a fest Sziget has shared a few names with so far.

  24. She’s not headliner material but I was saying that because of Sziget’s latest choices when it comes to who headlines. And also she’s (almost) top of the list at MadCool the day she plays. She’s pretty dope tho, you should give it a listen. Her lastest album was nominated for AOTY.

  27. Honestly I walk a lot and even mine is very variable. As an average I'd say most people would be expecting to do about 30k a day. My record at Glastonbury is 60k but I was all over the place that day and dancing a lot!!! One thing I would say is you don't have to get up to that level every day before you go. Making sure you are walking more than normal in the run up to it is sensible and making the effort to get the odd long walk in but a bit like marathon training, most people don't do a marathon having regularly run one in training because adrenaline on the day will usually do the last part for you. The key thing is make sure you are practiced at doing some long walks in whatever footwear you intend to wear and over slightly uneven terrain (since you'll be on a farm). So many people have a festival made slightly wore by pesky blisters etc from suddenly doing a lot of steps in footwear that they are not used to.

  28. 80% is pretty impressive. Not sure how I feel about the new stage arrangements, the area around Primavera Stage somehow feels off and I will always hate the side-by-side stage set up at Mordor.

  34. Fantastic. I think that any training should be suited to the goals you want to achieve. Maybe start this week by standing at the bar of a local establishment for an hour and build it up until you can spend eight hours standing at the bar. 😉😉

  36. Hoping we share a few more acts with Pukkelpop. Would love it if Sziget got some of: Barry Can't Swim, Confidence Man, Jorja Smith, Maisie Peters, Miles Kane, QOTSA, Soulwax, Sugababes, The Kills, The Vaccines. Also, maybe Michael Kiwanuka from Grape and Keane, NBT and TDCC from Summer Well. Any chance @Sziget2024_Leaks?

  40. Moving the SE Corner queue point into the Avalon Field would be one of the dumbest moves they could make.. The existing queue filters straight from Bellas Field into the fairly spacious (and, so far at least, underutilised) IICON field and has worked reasonably well for years. Moving the queue into the Avalon Field would be f**king mental. Avalon itself can already get crowded at various times of day (including at headliner time) and their headliners finish 30 minutes later than on the other main stages. The only gate to the SE corner feeds directly into Block 9 which itself is more of a desirable destination and can get overcrowded especially with loads heading to NYC Downlow once main stage headliners have finished (and for 30 minutes, Avalon is still running).

  41. Just to be clear, I’m not saying Stonecircle wasn’t poorly treated, or that Oxfam shouldn’t be catering for RAs. All I’m saying is that in practice theres a limit to the number of people with RAs you can take. I think one possible reason they end up treating people with RAs badly at times, is that they can’t accommodate the numbers they recruit with the roles available and there’s no getting round the need to manage that better. As an extreme example - Oxfam cannot do the job they are there to do, if everyone they recruit needs to sit down……or to be fair, even if half need to sit down. Saying we’ll always cater for RAs is great in theory, but in practice, there is a limit to how many there can be, & if they don’t manage that somehow, it’s the people needing RAs that suffer. Also in my experience on shift their management of RAs has been fine, & there wasn’t anyone I couldn’t accommodate when I was supervising, but StoneCircle isn’t the first person I have heard complain, I have met several people in the Oxfam canteen tent that haven’t been happy.

  43. I think that there is some confusion about what Reasonable Adjustments are. They are a legal requirement to prevent people with a disability from being prevented from doing something. Being old/fat/lazy/hanging is not a disability. If you have a disability such as SC does then you should have Reasonable Adjustments made by law as well as morally. The idea that you have pots or quotas of volunteers eligible for RAs is morally wrong and illegal. To me the problem is people asking for adjustments when they don’t have a disability causes the problem. If you have a disability then you know that you have it and can request RAs before the event. These need to be met if they’re reasonable. An injury is temporary and not a disability and though supervisors might be understanding there is no requirement to make adjustments. ps I do not volunteer for Glastonbury with Oxfam and am not an apologist for them. What they did to SC is totally wrong

  44. I would say the most likely given their position on the line up is a late marquee spot, but not as headliner of the marquee other possible positions would be headlining the jupiler stage or metaldome, or an afternoon spot on the mainstage. I think marquee/mainstage is most likely and in both scenarios they would not clash with Tool. as long as they dont headline one of the stages you're fine.

  45. Sorry I missed this. An obvious starting point would be Canshaker Pi, Klittens and Pip Blom. They all contain members of Personal Trainer . My favourite band of the last few years has been Lewsberg who I believe have played either Green Man or EoTR. My guess is that Tramhaus may be the next band to break out overseas. There are a few labels like Subroutine (recently put out an excellent album from a duo called 'Soon') and Smikkelbaard. Then depending on your taste for more lofi/experimental sounds, Tiny Room Records and Moving Furniture Records.

  47. Haha yes. To be honest, KOL, The Fratellis, Editors were quite big for me back then but The Fratellis should have never subbed. It's still better than having SZA, Burna Boy and Paloma Faith all on one stage.

  48. That’s the plan, as mentioned earlier I’ll be closing this off in 2 weeks time and then will get the group put together. There are a few missing contact numbers from a couple of groups so hopefully their mates will add them in and we’ll all be good to go for the start of April, should give us a good 2-3 weeks before the resale to get comfortable and find out how the sale will take place and then coordinate from there
