scorp
They should do this. Us efestivals nutters would get tickets whilst the lightweights fucked off just after Saturday lunchtime. long time ago, ish, i got mine at about 3 a.m. ticks went on sale at 6pm on a weekday. i just kept clicking away for 9 HOURS. peeps were still trying several hours later. the year was the early to mid 00s. scorp
I've got efests set-up with a "front" server, with the heavy work done on another server. I haven't had to spunk a fortune on a bought-in system either, I've knocked it together myself ... tho of course it doesn't have the same load. The limits with the load on the efests system is what I can afford to have in place. I can't afford to spend thousands on servers which will only get utilised for perhaps an hour a year. cheers. time i sent you some dosh again! scorp
I guess you weren't around in about 2005, when the ticket sale went on for 36 hours. That was a frigging nightmare! ah, maybe that's when i got mine at 3 a.m., just 9 hours in.

The day that Kraftwerk tickets went on sale for the Tate, baring in mind the online system died, I spent my entire working day pressing redial on my work phone. 9am-5pm with only toilet breaks. Still didn't get any!

That was a frigging nightmare! arrgh don't remind me - was that 04? - I got a ticket at Monday 5pm from trying all day before and all night on the f**king phone Does anyone know if See host their stuff in their own DataCentre? Any idea on locations and bandwidth of their interpipes? 100% uptime?? check out HP-nonstop (tandems)
Swieve
Yep, was definitely 2004. I got my confirmation at some stupid hour of the morning and realised I had been trying for six hours after I had got my order through. Confirmation page never showed up after order. Continued trying right into Monday afternoon I think for the rest of our party. All to no avail. However everyone got theirs on a lightning unannounced resale on Good Friday As regards to this year. Are we in agreement that multiple tabs will hinder your chance. That was the story last year but I succeeded around half nine and was using them
stardustjunkie
I can't do techy but I can post my experience of this year. I was given this link by a friend who isn't trying until Sunday http://glastonbury.seetickets.com/event/glastonbury-2015-ticket-coach-travel-deposits/worthy-farm-pilton-somerset/850005 It went live at about 6:35pm and remained live until 7pm. I was able to put in my reg details before 7pm, but on the coach ticket page I didn't have any option to purchase. I clicked back a page to the page where my reg details were (they stayed filled in on the page) and I randomly kept clicking submit and going back again until it worked. At bang on 7 I clicked submit and I was able to pick my coach (it helped that I'd been able to look at all the coach options before buying went live), then on to payment and my macbook saves my card details so that took a second and that was it, ticket bought in about 10 seconds. I honestly believe if I hadn't been sat playing around with that link beforehand, I wouldn't have had a sniff. I tried getting tickets for others after I got mine and I had no luck. To be honest I think she just so happened to check the glastonbury.seetickets or whatever it is page while they were getting it all ready and it took her to that. She isn't techy either! Divein
I know I probably know the answer to this, but is wired to the router through an Ethernet cable better than going wireless. I was successful twice last year through my wireess laptop. But i'll plug it in if it gives me a better chance of getting through! Then go on my ipad and phone

smudger
that's the same link that was posted here about half 6 last night. I know and some said it worked for them, but of course who knows whether that was down to the link, i suspect not, but if it gets you to the registration page before 9 and you can get your details in ready to press proceed at 9, thats a different matter....isn't it? StLewi
Hi Smudger, Those links you've posted have 302 redirects to http://glastonbury.seetickets.com/content/gfl-worthy-view. Without getting overly technical, a 302 redirect is temporary and can be removed to enable the links with all the numbers to work... meaning these links could be gold come Sunday. As it stands, however, they are just redirecting to a standard page and unless changed, they probably won't do you any favours. Saying that, you can put any number at all on the back end of that link and it redirects to the above worthy-view link. I know and some said it worked for them, but of course who knows whether that was down to the link, i suspect not, but if it gets you to the registration page before 9 and you can get your details in ready to press proceed at 9, thats a different matter....isn't it? scorp
Interesting question. what is best - ctrl + f5, or just f5? someone elsewhere suggested alt tab f5 but that seems to do nothing. for our interest i found... " CTRL + F5 redownloads the page. F5 reloads content from the browser cache." so, what's the best, eh?

kalifire
I was going to try all of these in different sessions on different machines! You'd be better off just using 'glastonbury.seetickets.com'. Opening all those links, the vast majority of which will be wrong, will simply use your bandwidth and lower your chances of getting a ticket. I don't know why there's an obsession with the 'real link'. The redirect is instantaneous.
midnight
Ah yes, the good old international line. Got through to them at about 4am in 2004, or some stupid hour like that. Happy days compared to last year: no luck in the coach sale, main sale, re-sale, missed the secret sale by a few minutes. I'd take 6 or 7 hours hunched over my laptop or phone any time over that sort of stress. I do hope Neil is right about reduced demand - can't see it at all from where I live & socialise, though. I thought the benefit was to get a chance to get one page ahead and type in all the registration info before the sale actually starts? As someone said above. If I'd been able to do that, and then read the bus departure info in advance, it would have saved me valuable seconds and I might have got in. Who knows. eFestivals
mr efestivals - you mentioned Metallica having the "opposite effect". Has there been a drop in traffic to this site year on year? Or have you heard that from see? Just curious.it's based on the simple fact that Metallica are a far less appealing band overall than the stones (as the crowd sizes showed), and that far fewer people will be attracted to Glastonbury on the basis of who headlined the last Glastonbury as a result.
