Id like to see a live size Michael Eavis statue somewhere on the site -  so long after he is gone he is always there.

I’d agree with that, and an audio of that infectious lovely laugh played every time  someone passes it.

But, Let’s hope that  time is still a long way off.

Which leads me to wonder why more camping is needed ? Or which current camping is being removed ?

I think it would balance out as row mead and a few others on that side of the site have been lost over the last few years.

also I would think they would want to sell back up to capacity and this would help.

true but theyve also managed ok without for several years ( I think ) .... I was told that an increase in capacity might happen ... although ive no idea if this has any  accuracy and obviously this would need the relevant approvals

This meeting took place in March. The intention is .... Gate C is moving to Pylle Road, Gate B just round the corner to Cockmill Lane. They'll be an increase to the perimeter fence on the East of Cockmill Lane. Campervans and parking will be moved. Additional 12,000 camping spaces created for staff and ticket holders (off/on site).

They'll be applying for planning to increase the size of the Pyramid stage but not this year. Orientation and location will be the same.

Thank you for that spot.  I think the new Agenda for tomorrow's April meeting has only been posted today and beforehand was simply linking to the March agenda.

Wonder if Oxfam field will move back with the new perimeter. Else looks like a general peripheral move for camping, freeing up ground inside for further use for attractions.

The March minutes have been posted too which confirms the details presented by GFEL.

It's definitely crew AND general camping moving back.

I wonder how that impacts some of the glamping sites such as Love Fields and Camp Kerala (and others) which look like they'll be impacted with the move.

Obviously at this point we don't know exactly which fields would and wouldn't be included within this "annexe" fenceline.

But just in general terms - if I was in charge of an off-site glamping operation, I'd be quite happy for the chance to bring my field (effectively) inside the fence and remove the need for my customers to go through the festival gates every time. Feels like it could be a selling point and advantage over the competition. Assuming something could be worked out for vehicle access / parking / accreditation etc.

I don’t think there’s any way the off-site glamping gets absorbed into the fence. Most of the glamping fields were previously used by the festival, so unless they’re returning to festival use there’s no upside to making these changes to move a private operator on site.

edit: by most I mean fields like The Love Fields which were previously used as staff camping.

Sort of what I'm thinking...perhaps a new area which means some camping has to be moved, or some camping is being lost due to the Pyramid shuffle.

Something like Kerala is a fair question. It's pretty much one field as an Island in the middle of the festival fields being mentioned as likely to be enclosed. If the field remains unavailable for use by GFL, then they absolutely could still make provision for Kerala to keep running inside the annexe fence. It'd likely be the easier option than working around it.

Love Fields is potentially a different story. The landowner fell out with the festival / Eavis family big time, to the extent that the Eavis family had a restraining order against him, so that's not going to be in the conversation unless there's been a change (which is possible, most of the sh*t went down ~10 years ago and I don't even know whether the man in question is even still alive or still owns the fields).

Row mead was lost in 2023 and half of oxlyers was lost last year. So this will top that up.

I think this is old news, Love Fields have controlled this land for years and have some sort of working relationship with the festival as they get tickets. Festibell owner owns campervan East (old) and some of SE corner so I'm sure he'll be sweet. Kerala are a little further back and aren't land owners as far as I'm aware so would have little to offer the festival. There is no mention of these sites being incorporated inside the fence, but I'm sure they'll have to accommodate them somehow.

I think this is all about increasing the capacity safely. They don't want to continue holding back tickets every year so removing camping from the main thoroughfares is probably the plan.

I've got to agree with that. last few years have seemed very very busy. But maybe I'm just getting old!

last year was much improved . and if there is extra space within the fence line that can only be good in my opinion

Certainly it felt like there was a big focus on widening paths, opening up choke points and crowd movement/data analysis in the years since 2022.  It felt rammed that year, and I didn't go in 23, but 24 was a massive improvement all over the site as far as I was concerned, even if it meant trimming a few meters off the edges of camping areas.

If they increased the footprint of the site, and maintained the same total square meterage of public camping without a capacity increase I'd be happiest.
