Yep, totally agree!

I expect David Byrne to be one of the Barn heads. For The XX I agree with @thetime. If they've secured a headlining position at PKP they'll be there instead.

On the Calvin Harris option, he could be a dance closer to be honest. Having Sabrina headline with Calvin Harris after wouldn't be the worst I suppose.

Werchter have got the chance though next year put a really good output in. If they have Foos too, they'll have the edge on Nos alive for example. Opener generally recently anyway have had two of their headliners players Werchter in a position of some sort. They share at the least 1 but someone times two from Nos, so if Foos are announced I'm expecting them to grab them too. It'll be a bit like Reading 12 again with both of those.

in 2025 Opener had 1 of RW’s headers (Linkin Park) but also billed Gracie as a co-header themselves

In 2024 Opener had 3 of RW’s headers (Foo’s, Dua and Maneskin)

In 2023 Opener had 1 too (Arctic Monkeys) but again billed Lil Nas X as a co-header

So looking at that I’d say there’s the distinct possibility that Werchter will get 1 more of Openers deemed headers.  If I had to guess on what has been announced so far it’ll be The XX in a co-header/sub spot

Werchter won't miss out on Foos if others around have them though for The XX. Foos will be a massive get next year The XX have also played Puckelpop twice since they last played Werchter in 12 so I don't think unless they sub they'll be a massive loss to them and I dont think they'll get co-headliner. I'd be amazed if there is 3 acts shared from Primavera though if they go down a different route wouldn't rule it out. Two though seems to be likely a max and they've got what I'd say are the two big hitters from that.

For you of course. Absolutely loads will be over the moon

I could be misremembering this, but I'm sure someone knowledgeable (possibly even Ken) said that TWOD are a massive favourite of the Werchter bookers. Subbed Pearl Jam last time out, noticed they're playing in the tent at Nos next year I've now got my fingers crossed for getting them in the Barn somewhere.

In that strange limbo now where other festivals around are starting to take shape and you can see the names getting announced that you want on a line up. Just have to hope that they all come together either here (or somewhere else) to give a line up worth travelling for next Summer.

Yeah they are.  Over on the festileaks forum they’re pretty much of the opinion if you put them under the cure then the day will immediately sell out

Do you like anyone? 🫣

Well you've seen the options I would like so.

A fair question😉 In my opinion the Nos alive line-up looks awesome already.

Is it?, just because they don't stick out to me? This forum is very heavy on if you don't like what others like you don't like anyone, it's a very dry response. And a positive response to festival bands currently announced doesn't mean everyone had to follow like sheep and agree, it simply means don't attend that festival.

Who do you want?

Gone over the acts I'd like to play below. Florence, Lorde, Jack, Foos obviously, The Offspring would all be great. Vampire Weekend would be good, KOL, TLDP would be nice too.

Iron Maiden and Metallica iirc.

I don't even want them, got one at RIP anyway and seen Metallica at Download. Im also not a huge Metallica fan.

Yeah it's pure optimism now where few bands really have been ruled out. Everyone is all cherry picking their personal favourites from Opener, NOS, Primavera etc and wishing them onto the Werchter lineup. Heartbreak incoming over the next few weeks for some as options get ruled out.

Indeed, they changed direction from the tiktok-artists from last year.

I think festivals are doing the same next year. Probably more to do with touring schedules, more than a change in direction.

For example im doing Primavera for the 1st time next year. Going from Charli, Sabrina and Chappel to The Cure, XX, Massive Attack and Gorillaz is back to form.

Although Charli was awesome at Sziget I have to say.

It doesn't matter what he wants, he just moans about every festival lineup even if he has zero intention of going

For a start, it doesn't matter what I want?, how very arrogant, ignorant and selfish!

Also, I'm not sat here telling people virtually they have to like what they like and questioning how they can't like it.

I'm doing doing stuff like @thetime is asking do you like anyone instead of just respecting a view. He doesn't care for LP, Blink 182, MCR as he puts or other rock bands aside, he's very much into the Primavera crowd which a lot are on here, but I'm not here saying well why don't you like this band I do because frankly he doesn't have to. He will pay to go to a festival I won't and do you know what?, it's his money snd choice so fairplay

I know I sound like a bit of a broken record with this one but it also helps everywhere else massively when Glastonbury is taken off the board during a fallow year.

It rules out a major festival scooping up some of the top touring bands allowing them to have a bit of a free-er schedule and the lack of TV exposure (and revenue that comes with it) forces bands to play these bigger festivals as it gives them a bigger audience that they lose without Glastonbury.

Probably just a coincidence but it seems to happen every time there's a fallow year. Could be that ticket sales were down at some of these festivals last year too (I don't know about that if I'm honest) so they've had to revert back to type a bit.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the last day is the likes of Sabrina/Chappel/Billie (it’s what I expect for RW too tbf)

I´m actually hoping for that so that my daughter have something nice to look forward to:) I´d personally love to see Billie. Saw Chappel Roan last year as well and she was awesome.

No, not really. I don´t mind that others have a different music taste from mine. Do you?

Yes that´s true that the touring schedules play a big part.

I also saw Charli last year. Not my type of music at all but she was great live.

I am unsure how the fallow years at Glastonbury helps to be honest. I know its been debated before, pros and cons.

There's only been 1 official fallow year in 14 years, so its difficult to judge.

    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
    • I sacrificed the first hour of the cure for Role model yesterday and oh man that was a good bet! That guy and his band are insanely good and an hour long only bangers!

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
