Doesn't indicate anything, just shows a list of acts on the app which all have been on main they have added The Prodigy below Moby, that'll all.

Right so you're taking it back to this years again when Sam Fender pulled out again who couldn't sell tickets for toffee...multiple people also agreed on him being a weak headliner and the results showed it...but again just mentioned me. Fender was massively a poor choice of headliner for the Saturday night on a big anniversary year of the festival no matter how you dress that up. Didn't you even point how yourself it's odd how they rebooked so many acts to return the year later all on the same day together but I guess that's not an issue.

I have said The Cure, Moby and The Prodigy were great bookings. I have also agreed that The XX, Offspring and Teddy is a poor top 3 but so does most of festileaks so go and yarn at them for it too. I have also The Prodigy actually brings Werchter back into light so where are you getting all this rubbish from? I Mumford is a but unneeded just 3 years later yes but praising recent announcements doesn't sound negative to me, I would take The Cure, Moby and The Prodigy at many festivals I attend although MK Bowl is very nice and close for The Prodigy so it's not a deal breaker.

As someone else also pointed out a few days ago, this used to be a forum I was really enjoying being part of. I remember looking forward to take a look at new posts during breaks at work or in my free time, speculating about names, talking about music and exchanging opinions about various festivals. I got to discover many new bands and festivals thanks to comments from people that share the same passion. All that excitement has been lost over the last few months, any interesting comment is being drown within all that BS and it’s all very very tiring. Which makes me being one step away from just calling it quits and never coming back. Not that anyone cares, but I don’t think I’m the only one feeling this way.

Apologies for my mumbling, I just wanted to let it out. This is the best time of the year for this forum. Can we try to make it enjoyable again please?

This forum became way more enjoyable to me since I've used this feature to hide negativity spammer https://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/ignore/

So what actually is your problem man or do you just not like people answering back pointing out your whole comment was in fact invalid. Nothing wrong with my breathe lad, I'm pretty calm on it. You have to have a problem with absolutely every I type, don't type, should type, haven't typed, you don't like, I should like and so on and so on. Every time it is a festival you attend or want to attend you can't have it that anyone EVER says ANYTHING against it or dislikes something EVER! God if someone didn't like Papa Roach playing a festival I'm going to should I kick off at them every time lol. And you keep doing this frankly is playing part in bringing this forum down just because you can't accept anyone (ME, but can others), not liking every band you like announced.

Why don’t you go to festileaks and leave us alone? Please, do it at least for 2 or 3 days.

He is just baiting everyone for attention, it works as well.

either way it's pretty toxic. we can argue about anything online, even acts that attend a festival. Pretty much everyone on this thread is pretty understanding that everyone's tastes are different, music has always been subjective, that's the point. Constantly moaning about every act that gets announced, that's quite a lot of wasted energy in my opinion.

Yes its draining, he's been doing it for a good 10 years under multiple user names.

I would advise everyone to block @northernangel and you have your forum back.

Its that simple.

It does.  I need to do better tbf.  Try and give the benefit of the doubt but sometimes there’s no reasoning.

Apologies if my replies add to the rubbish

I've been on here for nearly 20 years, and I've never found it to be as tedious as it is now. It's a real shame the Mods haven't been able to keep control of it in the past few months. The international sub-forum in particular was a vat of knowledge, and absolutely essential when it came to planning foreign festivals at a time where information wasn't widely available in English. Like others above, I'm being driven away from a forum and community that I've been a part of for a very long time.

Sorry to railroad this back to the bands (but that’s why most of us are here isn’t it?) from today’s announcements Empire of the Sun would be another huge pull for me that I’ve not managed to see yet. Throw in Kingfishr, Royel Otis and The Beaches from Hurricane and I could be very much heading back to Werchter for the first time in 8 years…

(also, just catching up with this forum but Lorde and TWOD being out might be a good thing for me cos it could give me some proper justification to do the RW/MC double bill if I could find the strength within myself)

Agreed with this. I'll put my hands up for being guilty of arguing back at times when it's been unnecessary and I'll apologise for that.

I think the mods need to step in or there needs to be more community guidance to stop threads going round and round in circles. There's got to be a way to clarify the difference between being allowed to state your opinion and being relentlessly negative across multiple posts and threads. "If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all".

Imagine if every act, at every festival, every user felt the need to reply with whether they liked them or not. This place would quickly lose any remaining value that it still has.

There should also be some sort of minimum standards for the clarity of posts. If your contributions are constantly riddled with inaccuracies, misinformation, typos and incoherent sentences then it's basically just shitposting isn't it.

Yeah, I’ll admit I sometimes worry that I’m a bit too active on too many forums here, but I will caveat that by saying that if you look at my signature you can see I’ve attended a massive range of festivals and I do just jump on forums trying to find the best line ups for the next particular summer which I want to go to.

I am mindful that sometimes I get a bit “old man yells at cloud” occasionally but I always try and be positive where I can or explain myself if I feel I’m being negative/something isn’t for me. And what I always try and do is steer away from the negativity, I just love talking about bands/line ups. The amount of bands I’ve discovered from here is insane and I love seeing people buzz from line ups which may not necessarily be for me, but they really enjoy.

I still love coming here and just chatting music. For example, at the minute I’m on the holiday of a lifetime in Japan; it’s been an incredible experience but feels very far away from home and I’ve loved checking in here on a morning. It’s helped connect me back home every now and then. It’s a shame people are feeling like they want to move to different forums/efests might not be for them anymore, but I’ve been here since 2012 and I’ve seen plenty of negative posters and trolls come and go and we always end up winning in the end so I hope to still see you all around in here to discuss tomorrow’s name and the headliner on Friday.

Couldn't agree more - would react if I could but I've ran out!

l think there's more that brings all of us together in a shared love of life music that we should celebrate, and there's value to be had on this forum from sharing knowledge and excitement for festivals each year. I probably wouldn't have gone to iDays or InMusic without the help of this forum, which were both great experiences seeing live music in new places.

God knows my partner is sick of me trying to follow the "festival maths" and predict lineups in advance each year, and I think it's great to have a community with whom I can try and do that with instead. Hoping that this thread and others can be a bit more positive going forwards.

Fingers crossed for The War on Drugs tomorrow... And hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Japan too!

Not based on app and such - it makes sense to me that The Prodigy will close the Barn. I imagine a Muse - Fred again.. situation (back in '23). Or maybe it's just wishful thinking. What a weird sub that would be before Mumford.

Saw Prodigy this July in Release Athens. They still got it. A great addition to a great lineup.

Done some back of the envelope calculations. I think Lewis Capaldi is on to sell about 350'000 gig tickets across the UK this summer, not including festivals like Latitude too. The caveat here is that obviously Capaldi is much bigger in the UK than anywhere else. Does anyone know the relative size/popularity in Belgium?

Given the likely spot is subbing the main, there's also lots of options for creative counter-programming in the Barn for those who might not be as into it.
