So what's the difference between these 3

Thanks

All very similar, are all 3 necessary?

I'd read it as

Thanks - For informative / question answered / etc.

Like - For appreciation / agreement / etc.

Upvote - For anything that doesn't fit into the above.

Tbh yeah there's a certain amount overlap within the above. But I don't see that as a problem.

You could use a heart emoji on something emotional where an upvote wouldn’t seem quite right . That’s my take anyway

Doesn’t really matter to me! They are all positive emotions, nothing bad. That was the objective I believe 😀

I think many of us feel different putting a heart on a post to putting an upvote, the former seems more emphatic.

Yeah, I tend to upvote if I agree, but I use like when I actually "like" what is posted (most often in the new music thread). Different sentiments in my head rather then completely interchangeable...no issue with downvotes going though, only ever gave 2 in the 20 years I've been here!

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
