Also they said that the headliner round is DONE. Obviously no one else fromt that day would qualify as main stage headliner.

So Anyma is headlining the main stage.

No he's not ; otherwise, why EVERY OTHER headliner was announced with the "Main Stage" info, and not Anyma ?

He is a headliner, but it seems he won't perform on the main stage. I believe they will bring the Balaton stage somewhere on the island.

You are quite adamant on this one, can't see it myself.

Could of just been szigets famous oversight.

If there’s really going to be a 3rd edm stage, my bet is it’s going to be where Buzz was last year and Buzz’s going return to it’s original place, next to Revolut. Either that, or they are going to refurbish the camping on the northern side of the island and put a stage somewhere where the sport zone was years ago, close to the Colosseum. The field at the Colosseum, where the Art Zone was is too close and small in my opinion.

The extra stage is a pretty big claim it is in fact that there is no word about it yet.

I'm sure Leaks hinted at stage changes in one of his earlier visits. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it was true, I just can't think where it would be unless they have a significant re-arrangement of the site. Maybe such plans take time.

I have some (little) experience of event planning and massive changes usually require sign-off by many different agencies including emergency services - will the new layout work if there's a terrorist incident, can emergency vehicles access the new stages if there's a serious medical emergency etc.

The event I was involved with was significantly smaller than Sziget and had a safety advisory group with about 15 different agencies represented, including the local council - all of whom had to agree every minor change before licence was granted etc.

Also it was confirmed earlier that there will be no global village/world music stage so that space can be used for a different stage as well.

Green Man line-up announced as well. I'd take many acts from here like Wet Leg, Greentea Peng, Ditz, Underworld, Perfume Genius, English Teacher, Just Mustard, TV on the Radio, Nilüfer Yanya and Cassandra Jenkins.

There's no space for large outdoor EDM stage. That place where Global Village was is not big enough to host that Balaton Sound Stage and crowds as big as Main Stage usually have. And Anyma and Armin are the only acts that would benefit from it, other DJs are way too small. Justice must be on Main Stage or Revolut cause they are sort of a live act, they have their own set up and lights. Party Arena (or another big EDM stage) is for DJs who only bring USB and laptop.

So yeah, if there's another EDM stage, it won't be bigger than Colosseum or The Buzz.

Green Man is a lush lineup, I'm away with the family that weekend. Sziget have to be on Underworld.

How is it possible that adding acts to a line-up makes it worse? That's a truly dreadful line-up.

What would make a good line up? Sziget not good, to much EDM. Reading not good either.

For me Sziget  + a few acts of reading would make a nice festival.

Really looking forward to Bloc Party at Live at Leeds.

You'll enjoy Live at Leeds if you haven't been before, been to the last two editions and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Even had tickets for this year (mainly because of Bloc Party) until my wife reminded me I was due down a pot hole that weekend (long story!)

Re: R&L, it was addition of Limp Bizkit and D Block Europe that struck me as poor additions in the larger name category.

I don't mind some EDM, I don't know or care to understand all the sub categories, but stuff like Underworld and Camelphat are fine by me.

Whereas, Skrillex last year was 'just noise' - which is probably just me being old.

No not been before, that bloc party + manics enticed me in. Nice May bank holiday weekend away. 😁

So, we hit March tomorrow. You've got to think that this will be the month when we learn much more about Sziget's plans for 2025 edition.

- New stage or no new stage?

- Larger names added to the undercard or not?

- What's the craic with selling day tickets for 65 euros?

- What are they planning that they think will add to the nighttime experience?

I think March is going to be a crunch month - they need to get their vision for 2025 out there.

I think this is the intereting part. It’s almost March and they have not given out anything about their vision. New ownership, possibly new directions.

And yrt their enthire social and marketing campaing has been a copy paste of last years.

It was at an industry conference in London. Because the room kind of exclusively had only industry insiders in it, i don’t think it was very nice of me to post anything here, so i can’t really give you more than anything i already said, sorry.
(and sorry sziget mgmt, i know you’re reading this.. but lets keep the buzz going :))

Day tickets are coming out next Thursday. What do we think the chances of a lineup drop beforehand are?

0, I think they are gonna milk the "day tickets drop announcement" and try sell as much of those with current lineup and when day tickets price go up they will announce more names to sell tickets for a higher price

Can't blame them for that to be fair. Seeing the likes of Chappel Roan, Post Malone for 65 euros is very good value.

Offering good value is perhaps what's been lost from Sziget organisers last 5 years or so.

In other news booked flights today. 😍

Tbf I think the headliners this year are pretty strong for their standards.

It's the undercard that's missing some variety and depth at the moment.

    • I've no issue with them making money either. However, one does have to wonder whether it aligns with the festival's green sustainability ethos - even if they are using fairtrade cotton.
    • Does anyone else think that Glastonbury could do with an onsite 'spoons?   (ducks head)
    • I'm sure us oldies tried to warn that this was inevitably the end consequence of digitisation.
    • A bit miffed that I thought a fallow year T was £25 but then progress through the system and it's an additional penny shy of six quid for postage.
