last year the dust was nothing compared to 2018-2022 I think that the only way to eliminate It Is hoping for Rain... btw they didn't Say anything about the replacement of global Village, am I right? do we all Just Need tò accept year After year that solid stages are being replaced by partners commercials and spots?

Think they begin set up on site about three weeks beforehand. I realise there's a cost implication but surely they could employ a couple of people to spend that three-week period watering the site with the old fire engine and just using water from the Danube? Might not make a massive difference but might make some.

After getting the greener festival commendation, thousands and thousands of litres of water on the floor to make it less dusty. Would perhaps not be the best idea going forward.

Especially when you have only a few hundred on site.

Just seen that all day tickets are showing as 65 euros on the ticket page: https://szigetfestival.com/en/tickets

I assume there is a very limited supply at this price, but it does have me worried that the final 'big' announcement isn't actually going to contain any big names because, well, how can they afford it?

That makes it actually cheaper to book 3 1 day tickets than a 3 day pass how does that check out 😂

Yeah, all this 'vote for your favourite day' competition etc fills me with dread too. Seems ridiculous to do if you've still got a third of the acts to announce. Unless, of course, the acts they have ready to announce aren't likely to swing votes as they're a group of unknowns.

Maybe they have a few medium acts and they're trying to work out what day to place them on by seeing which days have the least amount of interest in them??

Surely this is a mistake. A) it’s stupidly cheap. B) They haven’t even announced it.

All they said it was coming. But they never actually announced it

Or C) They are just desperate…

It does say 'Super Early Bird tickets only available in a limited amount' - sounds like they might be trying to incorporate some kind of dynamic pricing to day tickets. 'Cos we know how much everyone LOVES that model of ticket pricing!

This is a similar way to which the UK superstruct festivals release their tickets. A VERY limited number of tickets for a very cheap price and then a big social media hype and campaign saying that tier 1 has ‘sold out’, even if there were very little tickets in that tier in the first place .

It’s an indication that the festival isn’t selling well as they will use it to their advantage to try and push day tickets sales and in my opinion the line up feels like 6 one day concerts at the moment compared to one 6 day long festival.

They don’t seem to be available yet though- I looked at trying to book a day ticket and they don’t seem to be released yet .

Yeah, just sounds like a new marketing strategy.

Was at a panel at a conference that had a person from Sziget speaking.

A few interesting things:

What has been discussed here before as well is that they are trying to put more effort into nightlife programming. However what i think has not been through here is that she said that there’s going to be a third larger stage for electronic music (besides partyarena and colosseum i imagine)

She also mentioned wish machine - for years fans have been mostly asking for older large rock bands, but past few years this has really shifted towards different genres / newer artists.

I guess that's where Justice and Armin will be then

Just spotted a comment they replied to, saying that the next lineup announcement will be March. I think we could have all guessed that though.

Some more names and a bit of clarity around what this focus on nightlife/extra stage is going to mean would be very welcome right now

Anyma probably wont be on main stage as well. Saw a few instagram stories a couple days ago listing the headliners with "Main Stage" below charli, asap, post, chappell and shawn as well. Anyma didnt have main stage below him

I’m not sure why they’d bill him as a headliner for the last 3 months if he wasn’t playing the main stage. Surely he’s headlining

If this mysterious new stage is more geared towards EDM output and visuals (i.e much bigger screens) then it would make sense to shift Anyma to that stage.

That said, I can't think where they would put the stage to make it big enough to handle the audiences of Anyma and Justice. Plus, surely they wouldn't have main stage empty at 10pm on a Saturday night?

On the assumption that three EDM stages will need dozens of DJs to keep the music flowing, it's reasonable to assume that Main Stage and Revolut wouldn't have DJs, because that would seem slightly pointless - four stages of EDM!

Which makes me wonder then if we are still missing a ton of names for Main Stage and Revolut.

But that doesn't seem realistic either.

So confused.....!

Personally im going by the basis off what it's normally like. Extra stages, set ups and new arenas is just hearsay.

I can't see it being announced now, for me it would of all been announced when the initial headliners were announced.

For starters they would not be allowed an outdoor Stage of EDM post 11pm.

Just seems a bit fanciful.

Also they said that the headliner round is DONE. Obviously no one else fromt that day would qualify as main stage headliner.

So Anyma is headlining the main stage.

But what if this extra stage is like the Apex at Creamfields? A big indoor EDM stage that will have the headliner slot efter the main stage closes. That would make a lot of sense.

I don't see where the room would be. I was thinking they would have an outdoor Stage opposite to the main, but with the curfews it would be a big nono.

Also wouldn't they already have publicised it on there website? I know Sziget isn't the best at marketing, but we are nearly in March.

Where was this panel? Any video online?

The extra stage is a pretty big claim it is in fact that there is no word about it yet.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
    • May   1. Josiah and The Bonnevilles - As Is 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me 3. The Coral - 388
