Just got home from Heaton Park. The gig was everything I wanted it to be, but the crowd was FULL of insufferable f**king c**tS.

A lady behind me bought a tambourine for some f**king reason, so about 5 songs in, I asked her, very politely, with a please and everything, to stop. Her coked up c**t of a boyfriend and all their mates started threatening to beat me up, and spent the majority of the rest of the show trying to make mine and my family's life miserable.

We eventually moved, and when we moved it was just full of people being dickheads, starting on each other. Honestly I have never seen such a horrible crowd at a concert. It should have been a euphoric day but WOW was it full of pricks.

I believe there were places outside selling tambourines 🤦‍♂️

Are you surprised. Just like an oasis gig back in the day. Pissed up, coked up thugs whose perfect end to a gig would be a scrap. As big as a band they were they have the worse fans ever. I only saw them once previously and it was the nastiest atmosphere at a gig I’ve ever been to.

Of course. I was tempted to mention that pre gig, but would have been heavily shouted down. It’s part of the whole Oasis thing.

For balance, the crowd around me were all mega. I was a bit further back but everything was glorious. They scanned my tickets as well. Thought everything was really well organised as well tbf. The band were so so good. Ten out of ten.

I was there last night. Getting from town was chaos. 90 minutes queues for buses and trams. We got a bolt in the end. We had front standing and got there at 6. Tickets checked several times and scanned on entry. Take a plastic water bottle as if you are near the barriers at the back of front standing they will fill them up for you. Getting back to town we used the shuttle bus and took around 2 hours from oasis finishing to arriving in town. Didn’t scan bus tickets. We were stood right at the back of front standing in the centre and had a great view and a decent amount of space. Very little piss throwing near us. Didn’t see any. Now for the big problem. The heat. It was absolutely brutal and no escape from it. So if you are going today stay well hydrated and look after yourself and others around you. Oasis were good.

How was getting out? We’re aiming on getting a tram to Bury after. Is it carnage?

We walked back to town so cant say, i was impressed with the tram on the way there though, plenty of staff and they clearly thought about it rather than letting it sort itself out.

I will say we got carried away in rain bar all afternoon so didnt make the pilgrimage till about 6.

I will be doing that on Wednesday. Heaton Park stop is being closed, so I am probably gunna walk to Prestwich.

We’re Wednesday too. We’re front standing so I guess closer to Bowker vale. We’re not adverse to a walk though. Tempted to walk and get a bolt

maybe?

I'm at front standing too. Do you know it around there? I think if you head more towards Prestwich, you'll have a better chance for a taxi.

I've never used Bolt around here, only Uber or local taxis.

I live in Heywood, so I could walk all the way around & get a taxi from the bottom end of Bowlee.

Re: The Crowd

I find Manchester to be the roughest place to watch any gig. Oasis turns it up to 11. The people I know who went to Cardiff said the crowd was good & not full of the normal tools.

Oasis have a very broad range of fans, but the ones who like to think they 'the lads' always seem to turn up in Manchester. Even the out of towners want to come to Manchester to see Oasis & give it the big un.

It was only the cost which made me get a ticket for Heaton Park tbh.

Security on our gate took loads of people.

tickets should have been scanned and if they were attempted again it would flag up.

No they didn't scan them. Just glanced. He didn't even LOOK at the 2nd ticket and let us both through. Both tickets could have been transferred to someone else for them to use.....

We did the Bee Network shuttle which was pretty good.  Going we decided to leave early in case it was a nightmare so jumped straight on one around 3pm.  Getting back to Manchester it was a bit of a free for all - they had set up barriers which zig zagged (for f’king miles) leading to the bus bit but loads of people got fed up walking them and just jumped over or dismantled the barriers (with the stewards doing nothing).  But they did have loads of buses, filled them up well, and we were back at Shudehill by 11.30.

Had no real issues with the crowd. We were in the second tier of front standing and stood a bit to the side so had room for dancing!  We had loads of lovely people around us.  Got barged around a little bit but more through drunken loss of spacial awareness than d*ck behaviour.  Didn’t see one bit of trouble all day.

Cast and Richard Ashcroft were great, and of course Oasis were amazing.  What a gig!  I’m still on a high.

Anyone able to share any success stories or tips for getting back from Heaton Park?

I know the area well. Where are you trying to get to? If nothing pre booked and you are up for it, the walk back to city centre is manageable in an hour and a quarter.

Also, the weather is great and their are offies. I can guarantee their will be a vibe and and fun back into town.

Straight down Bury New Road and a couple in the Woodthorpe.

Yep, nailed it and I'm from Stretford. You are the lad who knows Big Danny (DJ) if I recall?

The whole Manchester vibe in the area makes me cringe more and more and I love the place and always will but as you say, it drags in the knuckle draggers from every Lee Anderson bolt hole.

The gigs look great but my advice is if you are stood near coked up lino carriers, move somewhere else.

Are you having Beatherder this year?

Yeah that's me.

I'm not doing Beatherder this year. I cant afford it really, so Oasis is my blow out. A few of my mates are. If you are going, I am jealous!

This was a while ago but when saw Stone Roses in Heaton park we headed east after finishing, away from the crowds, and ended up in maybe Prestwich and got a taxi there really easily into town centre and he didn't rip us off either. Maybe we were lucky, I don't know.
