Noob here, are bags normally searched when entering the site and when entering the arena?

Normally a very cursory patting of the bags on initial entry (looking for glass mainly), can't remember ever being searched entering the arena. Given you can take your own food and drink in doesn't seem much point.

Besides Mary Wallopers and Merry Hell, what other folk acts are on the lineup do you recommend?

Just been checking out the Maui Waui tent and The Wran on friday afternoon might be worth a look in if you like Irish trad folk.

And of course Nogood Boyo if you like your folk sung in Welsh with banging beats 😆

Weather looking pretty poor as of right now 😞

Where is that?  BBC has a few showers on Weds and a rainier day on Sat. Ok otherwise. While a dry weekend would be good that forecast doesn't sound too grim to me.   Appreciate they are changing regularly.

In amongst the uncertainty of the rain over the weekend, I've just spotted that the forecast for 4am Friday is 4 degrees.  That could easily turn into a light frost on site taking into account the way the river seems to suck any warm air away overnight!

Blankets and raincoats on standby this year for me!

Without going through every band on the lineup.. is there any on there that are a bit heavier ? For example last year had Green lung playing who are great!

Ive been looking for the same, Rupcha Farms sound good. Mannequin Pussy is a must see for me the KEXP session on your tube is worth a watch!

Slay Duggee looks liek a laugh too

My first ever BT festival this year after umpteen Glastos.  Looking forward to it.   What's the food and drink offer like?   I'll be bringing plenty of cans but is there usually a half decent ale on draught?

Drink - Excellent. More choice than you're used to, at a higher quality than you're used to, at a lower price than you're used to.

Food - Average quality at best, and feels more expensive.

Hi all

First time going but can only get there friday evening. Are the car parks relatively close to the camping if you are at the back.

Cheers

It’s a fairly small site, it’s easy to get around.

I think even from the furthest away car parking, it’s probably no more than a 15 minute walk…depending on what you’re carrying / how quick you walk etc!
