  1. Couple more suggestions for the month: Jen Butterworth (Woodland) The Mary Wallopers (Maui Waui) Ralph McTell (Woodland) Destroy Boys (Meadow)
  2. Some more suggestions for 2024 BT from me: Joni Mitchell (Pallet, longshot I know) Girl Ray (Pallet) The Coral (Meadow sub-headliner) Merry Hell (Woodland) Dream Wife (Meadow) CMAT (Pallet) Duvet (Meadow on Thursday) Black Midi (Meadow) King Kong Meuf (Convoy Cabaret) Deadletter (Woodland) Pit Pony (Meadow) Unglamorous Music (Convoy Cabaret) And as an extra idea inspired by the 'I Get Knocked Down' screening and Q&A in Something Else Sunday morning and linked to another suggestion I made in my first reply, a screening of Jubilee (1977) with Q&A afterwards with Toyah Willcox.
  3. Bringing these suggestions/requests of mine over from the 2023 thread. I know a number of them are quite indulgent for me, but I did take into account the sorts of genres BT likes to put forward and what stages they would most likely be performing on: Yes (Pallet) Bad Religion (Pallet) Dropkick Murphys (Pallet) Proclaimers (Pallet) Matt Berry (Woodland headliner) Battles (Meadow headliner) Republica (Pallet) Idles (Pallet) The Big Moon (Pallet) The Human League (Pallet) Sparks (Pallet) Toyah Willcox & Robert Fripp (Woodland) Gwenno (Woodland) Gruff Rhys (Meadow) SL2 (Magical Sounds) Tide Lines (Meadow) The Avalanches (Meadow) Heaven 17 (Woodland) Fontaines DC (Meadow) John Otway (Woodland) The Dead South (Woodland) Big Joanie (Meadow) Jehnny Beth/Savages (Pallet) The Longest Johns (Maui Waui) Pip Blom (Pallet) White Town (Woodland) LARRY PINK THE HUMAN (Woodland) Orchards (Meadow) Dream Nails (Meadow) Hinds (Pallet) Mhaol (Woodland) Gen and The Degenerates (Woodland) Jollyboat (Maui Waui) Andrea Kenny (Something Else) Orville Peck (Meadow) Cassyette (Pallet) Kitten Pyramid (Maui Waui) Let 3 (Meadow) Go_A (Meadow) The Poxy Boggards (Maui Waui) Muddibrooke (Woodland) Riding The Low (Woodland)
  4. Some more suggestions coming to mind for next year: Proclaimers (Pallet) Matt Berry (Woodland headliner) Battles (Meadow headliner) Republica (Pallet) Gwenno (Woodland) Gruff Rhys (Pallet) Dream Nails (Meadow) Hinds (Pallet) Mhaol (Woodland) Gen and The Degenerates (Woodland) Muddibrooke (Woodland) Riding The Low (Woodland)
  5. IDLES would have to headline Pallet one of the days and Fontaines headline Meadow another. I'd still feel for whoever headlines Pallet on a Fontaines day, even if it was The Proclaimers! Oh yeah, there's another suggestion for a legacy act!
  6. The sound engineer for the Pallet stage was playing Fontaines a lot between sets this year which sounded pretty insistent tbh! Not that I mind, I want them there too and yeah, they could be a headliner of either Pallet or Meadow. It would make Fontaines the most current from their debut to headline BT, which I don't know if it would alienate some of the older casual crowd who want to see a popular legacy name headline, but would be a gutsy move from the organisers. I know I've gone indulgent with a number of them! Yes, Let 3 and Go_A are Eurovision acts, but they're damn good Eurovision acts with engaging back catalogues, not just the songs they've sent to the competition. Jollyboat seem tailor made for Maui Waui and I would love to see those Edinburgh Fringe regulars there!
  7. My list is pretty exhaustive, but I've tried to take into account the need for the usual Bearded standard genres (Punk, folk, alternative), whilst trying to keep the lineup as fresh as possible with some unique big names that aren't necessarily on the gig circuit for that year or even have gigs that year at all! These are: (stage included too) Yes (Pallet) Dropkick Murphys (Pallet) Idles (Meadow headliner) The Big Moon (Pallet) The Human League (Pallet) Sparks (Pallet) Toyah Willcox & Robert Fripp (Woodland) SL2 (Magical Sounds) Tide Lines (Meadow) The Avalanches (Meadow) Heaven 17 (Woodland) Fontaines DC (Meadow) John Otway (Woodland) The Dead South (Woodland) Big Joanie (Meadow) Jehnny Beth/Savages (Pallet) The Longest Johns (Maui Waui) Pip Blom (Pallet) White Town (Woodland) LARRY PINK THE HUMAN (Woodland) Orchards (Meadow) Jollyboat (Maui Waui) Andrea Kenny (Something Else) Orville Peck (Convoy Cabaret headliner) Cassyette (Pallet) Kitten Pyramid (Maui Waui) Let 3 (Meadow) Go_A (Meadow) The Poxy Boggards (Maui Waui)
  8. Two things: 1. Does anybody think that the congestion problem for the Woodland was solved or made less of a problem by the debut of the Meadow Stage? I thought Saturday was quite congested, but that may have been a combination of the Beans On Toast Takeover fest being a big hit and people needing the tree shade from how hot it was for most of the day. 2: Is anyone else formulating a lineup for next year in their head already? In particular with acts that have never performed at BT before or are trying to see if they're touring the UK or Europe next year for it to link up well?
  9. Incredible festival! First rain-less festival I've ever been to and it's not even Summer yet! The acts were all great! Delilah Bon is a future star, Public Service Broadcasting were one of the most unique headliners I've ever seen and I started my first mosh pit at Warmduscher! Also, thrashing out Take Me Out at Knockerdown karaoke wasn't too shabby either! 😂 Really considering going again if any of my suggestions next year reach the bookers
  10. While that's true, it's at least got all who are currently on the line-up, at least as far as Pallet, Big Top, Magical Sounds and Woodland are concerned. Though one Maui Waui act whose time we can confirm is Seas Of Mirth. Friday at 8pm.
  11. Nobody Interesting needs to replace English Teacher with The Orielles on the Clashfinder
  12. So it was Millie Manders who I didn't want to spoil the day for, since they will be pulling a double shift on the Sunday with Bearded AND Slam Dunk!
  13. Yeah that's true, I didn't notice that at first with initially just reacting to the late additions themselves. Oh well, saw them at Glasto anyway so it's not a deal breaker at all
