If this is true, I'm just afraid that it will become fashionable in the future.
I know of a story about Kalorama stealing The Smile from another Portuguese festival, but it was behind the scenes, before they were announced.

You can not 'steal' an already announced name, makes no sense.

You can pay a lot more and the band will cancel.

That's not how it works. 😅

It seems evident sales of that Greek festival were not super high, so they had to cancel that show anyway. Maybe RW is helping them out by taking them over.

I think it’s more likely that a deal has been done so nobody loses money (the other fest/KOL) and looks good for RW

Green Day, Simple Minds, Girl in Red

Sam Fender, Kings of Leon, Raye

Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Khan, Gracie Abrams

Whether it’s to people’s tastes is one thing but that’s a very strong top 3 each day (Friday weakest for me)

Strongest European festival line up this year

Better than nothing but there's a reason they haven't played since 2017, complete crap live.

Saw them at Sziget in 2022, and it was great, ALSO thanks to the crowd... !

and it's not the first time I heard that Werchter crowd's kinda boring...

Depends on each person but KOL certainly improved a nothing Saturday, probably the worst ever at Werchter. Not the best outlook for major European Festivals going forward if that's was the level of best is. Again that depends what you want. Download have the best single day if we're covering British Festivals in European options without a single doubt but again someone else might have a different view which is all good.

It might be a case that they were booked in 2009, 11, 13, 14 and 17 and fancied a break from them lol.

I wasn’t even referring to KOL. I thought the Saturday was strong with Sam and Raye anyway

Wow, then we really are lowering the level lol. In fairness, if I was going I would try and big it up for myself too. I don't think the cost of LP in current form to book was worth compromising as much on other parts, but not everyone has seen the original LP so that's fair.

For a Rock festival though of Werchters status; Simple Minds, Raye, Noah, Gracie and Fender in his position aren't strong. For a broadly booked music festival then it would be a different story and there is no question that Noah especially and Gracie are hig acts. Deftones and Fontaines DC you can accept regardless of personal taste.

Almost Monday > Bright Eyes > Gurriers > Damiano David > Raye > KOL > Maribou State > Sam Fender

Thats an unreal day for me. 🎉🎉

But... Werchter is a broadly booked music festival.

I agree the show at sziget was great and I like them even more since I've seen them in Colombia and in France last year

I'm not even going, I just think it's a much stronger offering than any other festival this summer, and to me Raye and Sam are big names so having them on the same day is a strong duo you wouldn't get at many other festivals

People lying they like the lineup because they’re going 😂😂.  Christ.

You've lied enough about having other inside information from efestivals when you've toddled off to Discord before to give information on your name lol. So yeah it's likely!

Not the Rock Werchter as it was isn't, Sam Fender, Noah Kahan, Raye and Gracie Abrams are never gettong booked that high, if at all, before the last couple of years and thats just the top 3. It's rock werchter, not pop werchter.

Sam isn't anywhere near big enough in Belgium, I think that's well been covered as the weak link....they aren't getting LP, GD or Olivia and band to play their day that size are they. Raye I'm unsure of in  Belgium. If you like them that's fair enough, just wrong festival.
