You've lied enough about having other inside information from efestivals when you've toddled off to Discord before to give information on your name lol. So yeah it's likely!

Not the Rock Werchter as it was isn't, Sam Fender, Noah Kahan, Raye and Gracie Abrams are never gettong booked that high, if at all, before the last couple of years and thats just the top 3. It's rock werchter, not pop werchter.

Sam isn't anywhere near big enough in Belgium, I think that's well been covered as the weak link....they aren't getting LP, GD or Olivia and band to play their day that size are they. Raye I'm unsure of in  Belgium. If you like them that's fair enough, just wrong festival.

Stop being so angry…. Remember the Sun is out!

Discord you say? Not sure you’d see my posts there…. Right?

What is your sun is out thing all about?, you've posted something about this twice today?

I saw your old posts on there before you became a suck up and pain. Your OATF crap.

Well the sunsout.  Nice to mention it.

anyway, getting sidetracked here.  Btw OATW was from his drummer so a reasonable source.  Hey Ho, things change.  ☀️

Been listening to the other announced act and you can certainly hear the Boygenius influences in some of the sound.  Not too bad overall.

Wonder if there will be the final act now for Saturday or they’ll just give the likes of Sam and KOL the 90 mins with Raye getting slightly longer too.

Yeah but you don't mention anything unless there is some underlying reason for it. Seems you're turning into a copy and paste merchant everywhere haha.

Have a word with yourself.

I was laughing at the other bloke saying it….  The lineup is amazing.

I've seen big names be absolute flops (IMO) like RHCP, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, so you can't criticize the lineup till you're there. Having said that, it is a forum we all like to speculate and sometimes we're too drunk to remember anyway 🙂

I’ve always said it doesn’t matter what the lineup is I’ll still have a great time with my mates.  We treat it as break away from normality.  Yeah lineup helps but it’s really not everything (plus like you say… we’re normally too drunk to remember all of it anyway)

Forgot how rock the Black Eyed Peas were tbh. Thanks for reminding us.

But... Werchter is a broadly booked music festival.

Never as broad as they have been for this and the last edition. Now the majority is not rock related and that has never been the case before. For those liking Lollapalooza and the likes, I'm sure this line-up is great, but that has never been RW. For the track record they've had for the last 10-15 years, this is weak (probably the weakest of the 12 I've attended) although they managed to get two of the headliners many people were expecting of them this year (GD/LP). If they wanna go Lolla-style, that's their decision, but as I've said before, they at least need to be upfront about it.

As for KoL I've joked with my friends that they'll find a way to book them or Editors, but with the Athens date, I never really thought it would happen. It's probably better than what one could fear they would come up with this year, but I would consider it a bit "lazy" for their 50th edition. If nothing else, they at least have a new(ish) album in their bag this time. I also doubt they would cause the Saturday to shift a lot of tickets, but if they're close to selling out, then maybe they could tip it in the right direction. Personally I plan to see them this year as well, however I've planned for that every time, but always ended up leaving because they've been so boring that I could just as well listen to them at home. The good thing now, is that they don't play last, so maybe that can help a bit. The fact that KoL which previously almost has been considered as a curse word in this forum, now suddenly is met with standing ovations, amazes me though.. At least they've managed to steer expectations in the directions they want to.

Also, although Gel was far from my taste, they now changed one of the heavier rock bands with something that one needs to be very generous to call rock, so even one less act in that genre.

I think they did quite well considering who's around and available in their period tbh. The only other headliner name I can think of are NIN. KOL is a major letdown for me, especially as I hoped we dogded that bullet already... On the other hand, Slope acts are great and actually one of the strongest set in yers for me personally, so I am OK.

The biggest issue for me is the fact that they are becoming more like Hydepark/TW Classic series rather than a weekend festival - 4 strong days, catered to a certain audience each.

Anyway, let's hope for a good weather 🙂

yeah the Slope is incredible and I'll probably spend the most time there outside of the main stage? It's got a very Wide Awake feel to it; plus the Boston Manor-type additions. As a fan of pop/rock I don't mind it; but I do miss the heavier stuff and it feels a marked change from even last year, which had a lot more overlap - if last year's was this years' you'd have Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, The Last Dinner Party, Froukje, Loyle Carner, Declan McKenna, etc all on the same day. Feels a bit more spread out.

Wonder what's taking them so long to drop the line-up poster, though - now we have all the names?

Rock Werchter is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. And a birthday calls for a treat! At Rock Werchter’s request, 2manydjs are creating a unique set that celebrates and sums up 50 years of the festival. After headliner Olivia Rodrigo, the Festivalpark will set the stage for an incredible musical and visual spectacle by 2manydjs. A golden anniversary deserves a brilliant finale! Festivalgoers with a combi- or Sunday-ticket are warmly invited. We’re going to dance! It’s a party!

Sounds goooooooood!

It's really easy to get caught up during announcement season of going "but this festival has this band" or "it wasn't as good as it was 10 years ago" etc etc.

But adding KoL and 2ManyDJs shows that they've listened to feedback, and you'll probably struggle to find a festival with as much strength over the 4 days as Werchter has managed to conjure up this year. As always, music is subjective but with the price of gigs these days, £300 for a Werchter ticket is way more value than most festivals give I feel

Considering that it's a Sunday, I'd expect that Olivia Rodrigo's slot will move to a bit earlier than normal (and finish by 00:00 or 00:30 instead of 01:00). If it's the case, I hope that they will not move all slots of other stages proportionally. Since no one in my group is interested in her music, I wouldn't mind ending the night with Rufus Du Sol (preferably) and then watch the spectacle with 2manydjs.

Says it’s an extra hour of the festival so I presumed it would go on until 2am

You can get over discord with your mates and laugh about how Overmono are going to sub St Vincent on the Woodsies 🤣🤣🤣. Seems like I'm not the only one who thought that was stupid, but I am the only one who wasn't stupid enough to think that was going to happen!.....because only me would think that! What a circus you lot have got over there 🤣. You can copy and paste that too and confirm it as your own info but via efests lol.

trying to keep people back for olivia, was going to go home at this point, not sure what to do now

Trying to keep people back for the most popular headliner they have?

Might not be your cup of tea, but she’s been a major ticket seller

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
