Also, I couldn’t help but notice that the website describes them as a headliner.

Have they done the dirty on poor old Sam Fender?

Still under Sam on the lineup page, so guessing just co-headers 90 mins each.

We still expecting a 7th act for main stage on Saturday or is there some world where Fender, KoL and Raye all get extended sets?

If the above was the case surely they'd be some sort of 'lineup complete' type message within the marketing?

🤞 Wolf Alice 🤞

God I’d love WA and will defo be at their shows when announced but I reckon extended sets for them.

Going to see Gurriers tomorrow night, they’re also on Saturday and I massively recommend them if you’ve not listened

Seems odd, but in this extremely poor (for my taste) Saturday, even Kings of Leon seem like a decent addition. Without having any knowledge whatsoever, getting the headliner of another festival in the end of March looks like a kind of panic move and might be an indication of how the Saturday/Combi tickets are going.

(But this is just speculation based on 2 assumptions, (1) that KoL cancelled Athens for Werchter, while maybe they just cancelled for other reasons and became free for this day, allowing Werchter to book them, and (2) that combi tickets are not selling well, which is only based on the reactions I see and from my own biased opinion)

Werchter having to force a band to cancel a day after realising they've messed up is amusing. Extra money crossing paths as they certainly weren't in the plans before. There is finally a band worth catching Saturday, they should just be headlining, they've been asked previously to do it two years running.

Werchter forced them? How do you know that? Maybe they didn‘t shift tickets in Athens and the promoter cancelled them?

Supposedly tickets were pretty expensive and weren't shifting in Greece. Think it was discussed a bit on festileaks forum.

It's definitely a panic move. You aren't making that move especially given KOL don't have the same rep that they did for no reason. It was up there as the worst and weakest day they've ever booked and experimenting way too far. It's probably better than just going to book Jack White again though 4 times in 12 years/5 in 14 is a lot!

They clearly weren't on the original plan were they so they've had to put extra plans in place to grab someone late. They could have just made this choice instead of who they picked and look how stronger you are. It's a very convenient. KOL if asked to play the Rock Werchter anniversary which would have been a 6 year break, probably a record for them don't say no.

Don't take any notice of festileaks now lol, people who do that on here end up with duff information and disappointment on announcement day. As reliable as fake sources.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
