LLMs aren't AI. There's no intelligence there only predictive modelling.

 

There's lots of real AI tools around and being developed, instead of the ones that are being rammed down our throats while poisoning black neighbourhoods.

We represent you, the ordinary people, We want to  introduce devolution and PR and spread investment around the country. Too many young people are on benefits, we'll help them get jobs with training and support. but we expect them to engage with that support.  Small boat crossings are dangerous we want to introduce safe routes and take a fair proportion of asylum seekers.  The previous Govt issued too many work visas, we need to deal with the consequences in a fair way for everyone.

The groups you mention have demands just like other groups in society. The Govt's job is to the balance the competing demands. Supporting demands unconditionally means you end up denying that there are costs as well as benefits and that increases support for Reform

Yes I remember the internet in the 90's then bumbling along after the dot com crash until what was called web 2.0 with iphones and apps and the like.

 

AI feels alot like that. We are probably at around 1999 currently, with the stuff that is going to change society the most still to come.

All the talk of training and support has failed to materialise. The safe routes haven't been introduced, the fair proportion of asylum seekers isn't happening.

 

Starmer loved the line "I'll make difficult decisions" and then only did the nasty part with none of the carrot.

 

Burnham's giving out some carrots on cost of living early, but he and Labour have to earn back a lot of trust after how much damage they've done. Attempting to take blind people's white canes from their disability FFS.

So...Burnham kind of ruled out assisted dying until social care and palliative care is sorted out...which will upset some and please some others...I'm kind of centrist on that like many things...but here's the response from the MP attempting to bring it back.

I think that gives you a bit of extra time with the electorate, but they will still expect results. I have been impressed so far, but delivery is what is needed.

Ok I'm failing to find this on google. I remember this being reported in about 3-4 places 15-18 months ago when there was a backlash against proposed disability cuts, but I can't find it. I'll stop claiming that one until I find a source again.

Gtr Manc mayoraly elections today. I expect turnout will be pretty low, and it actually raining at the moment. Labour's Bev Craig expected to win, helped by STV and the Burnham bounce, and actually she's a pretty good candidate. Expected to be a much lower percentage than Burnham got last time though, and Greens and Reform will both do well in certain areas. So, I guess with STV I get to pick two...

Normally A Green voter but il be voting for Bev first today, I think the greens features a lot of National policy.  Lots of general fluff instead of why she should be Mayor.    Im in Rebecca Long Baileys constituency and she does very well every time (more than 50%) last GE , so Id expect my part to largely vote labour.

 

id say the same for the neighbouring Manchester Central constituency (Lucy Powell).  We if im not mistaken are the two most populous constituencies.   With it being a bit closer with the areas round the edge -   with reform possibly getting more votes in areas around the edge.  Id say that perhaps even the most dedicated Reform voters might realise they have put forward a joke novelty candidate....  actually scratch that they probably wont.
